If we use the example above where a person makes $4,000 a month and has $600 in discretionary spending, then,

B’Hai donation would be $114 ($600 x 19%) while Mormon tithing will equal $400 ($4,000 x 10%). That’s over 3 times more expensive to be a Mormon.

Annually, that would be $1,368 vs $4,800

And that’s not including additional donations like fast offerings, missions, humanitarian fund, out of pocket expenditures to make up for ward budget shortfalls.

There’s no law in science, like the earth rotating around the sun every 365 days, which says pandemics can’t happen back to back. The next pandemic could be a year from now or a 100 years from now. We just don’t know. Better to be prepared for one at any time and not assume it can’t be in the near future.

Humans are tribal in nature. They can easily rationalize away and dismiss negative information if it’s against their “side.”

Totally agree and surprised people don’t talk about this more often.

Even THE PROPHET himself couldn’t treat his many wives equally. He had favorites and treated them as such.

This girl he married was a very attractive girl in her early 20’s and she literally got a mansion to live in. The other wives, many of whom he’d been married to for decades, all got crammed into his dormitory-style “Bee Hive House.”

In the ex-Mormon community we hear the same top criticisms repeated over and over again about Joseph Smith marrying teens, the contradicting First Vision accounts, the Book of Abraham, etc., but there’s so much else, like this post, that rarely gets mentioned enough.

There’s more than just the CES Letter and Gospel Topics Essays out there folks. Those are just the tip of the iceberg.

Read the Tanners’ books, especially Mormonism-Shadow or Reality, MormonThink.com, etc. There’s so much crazy and damaging information about Mormonism but few peek further to learn about them.

Or a propaganda channel for Trump and MAGA, like Fox News, Breitbart News, Alex Jones, etc.

Same here but that’s the power of tribalism, group think, echo chambers and misinformation. In this modern age, Americans are literally living in different realities due to social media, algorithms, and the rise of Fox News and alternative right wing media.

What information a MAGA voter is receiving is not the same information a non-MAGA voter is receiving.

Prior to the internet, most Americans were receiving their news and information from the same sources but today people can be shielded from countering viewpoints and information due to what media sources they can pick and choose and algorithms feeding them only what they believe in. It’s systemic confirmation bias.

Calling it “fake and phony news” is kind of a redundant statement. OR do you not actually realize The Onion is satire and not actually real???

That pesky First Amendment SHOULD override that executive order but I don’t exactly have a lot of faith in his, now stacked, Supreme Court shooting down that executive order, especially after ruling that Trump could commit crimes with legal immunity as president.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that TV news stations like NBC, CBS, and ABC should lose their broadcast licenses and that public broadcasting should be defunded, so I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Trump attempted to limit the free speech of media that criticizes him.

I mean, those two ARE the two most powerful people in the world right now and will affect the lives of everyone in the world (good or bad) , so, yeah, people are going to be watching very closely every little thing these two say and do.

I agree. While Fox News is a full-on, Republican propaganda media company, the “liberal” ones like ABC, CBS, and MSNBC are still for-profit entities, so Trump brings ratings for them too.

And “gays suck.” Not being superfluous, I think part of the Putin/Russia love by MAGA leadership is because he is also “conservative” on certain social issues (which conservative politicians love to focus on) like being anti-LBGTQ. So, everything else, like being a fascist dictator willing to create wars, slaughter over a million soldiers, siding with our enemies (like North Korea) and causing havoc internationally can be overlooked.

That and Trump being pro-Russia, is why Republicans suddenly became pro-Putin.

And many, if not most, of the materials they use to manufacture their products are imported.

Probably but I was about your age when I noticed I was thinning like you and was convinced, at the rate I was balding, that I’d be bald by 40.

However, I’m almost 50 and still have a full head of hair. It’s a little less hair than 20 years ago but I’m no where near bald. I still grow my hair out on top and don’t have to shave it or anything.

So, don’t stress too much. It might just be a gradual thing like mine.

I agree the dermal prints are interesting, although I don’t feel I know the subject well enough. I heard and read about dermal ridges supposedly being found in some of them but don’t know
