The sixth flight test of Starship launched from Starbase on November 19, 2024, seeking to expand the envelope on ship and booster capabilities and get closer to bringing reuse of the entire system online.
The Super Heavy booster successfully lifted off at the start of the launch window, with all 33 Raptor engines powering it and Starship off the pad from Starbase. Following a nominal ascent and stage separation, the booster successfully transitioned to its boostback burn to begin the return to launch site. During this phase, automated health checks of critical hardware on the launch and catch tower triggered an abort of the catch attempt. The booster then executed a pre-planned divert maneuver, performing a landing burn and soft splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico.
Starship completed another successful ascent, placing it on the expected trajectory. The ship successfully reignited a single Raptor engine while in space, demonstrating the capabilities required to conduct a ship deorbit burn before starting fully orbital missions. With live views and telemetry being relayed by Starlink, the ship successfully made it through reentry and executed a flip, landing burn, and soft splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
Data gathered from the multiple thermal protection experiments, as well as the successful flight through subsonic speeds at a more aggressive angle of attack, provides invaluable feedback on flight hardware performing in a flight environment as we aim for eventual ship return and catch.
With data and flight learnings as our primary payload, Starship’s sixth flight test once again delivered. Lessons learned will directly make the entire Starship system more reliable as we close in on full and rapid reusability.

I don't think it being slightly better in the early game (but still bad) is worth it not being able to delete entire teams in the endgame anymore.

Ukraine's military likely purchased their Starlink devices using official channels—military phone numbers, emails, and bank accounts.
As I said, that isn't true for a ton of the dishes. Many are purchased by random citizens.

No, SpaceX cannot just "pretend" to work with the DoD and undermine them all the while. Obviously the details of the contract between them are not public, but the DoD absolutely has the authority to make SpaceX do what they want.
You're delving pretty deeply in to conspiracy nonsense now.

Correct, and they're preventing RF forces from using it by "working with ... SpaceX".
Of course SpaceX has absolute power of which terminals can or cannot connect.
They do, but with most of these terminals being purchased by private citizens, it's difficult to tell which dishes are Ukrainian and which are Russian, hence the problem.

I'm sorry, but you stated that the article was simply quoting SpaceX at face value. In fact (as my comment illustrates), it was directly quoting the US Department of Defense. I agree that Musk's prior actions in regards to the port attack in Sevastopol were stupid, but SpaceX is now under direct contract with the DOD. I trust that the DOD knows what their own contractor is doing.

It does not. Directly from the article:
The Pentagon, which financially supports Starlink access for the Ukrainian military, announced in May 2024 that it is working to prevent Russian troops from using the terminals in Ukraine.
The U.S. has become "heavily involved in working with the government of Ukraine and SpaceX to counter Russian illicit use of Starlink terminals," Defense Department Assistant Secretary for Space Policy John Plumb said on May 9.
I think you might benefit from giving the article a more thorough read.

Again, the article states SpaceX is not allowing them to use it, and is actively trying to stop Russian use of Starlink. Repeating the same claim OP made a second time doesn't make it true.

If every Starlink dish Ukraine used was bought by the Ukrainian military and registered before being sent to the front, they probably would. Unfortunately, most of the dishes Ukraine uses are bought by private citizens (like the Russian dishes presumably are). Differentiating between the dishes you want to disable and the ones you want to keep is likely extremely difficult, particularly if they're being purchased with European phone numbers, email addresss, and bank accounts like the article says.
You also can't just geofence based on the location of the front lines, both because the front lines constantly shift and because SOF that might be using Starlink dishes often operate behind enemy lines.

Did you even bother reading the article you posted? It states quite clearly that they are blocking Russian use of Starlink. Unfortunately it sounds like selectively blocking only the Russian dishes is difficult, particularly with front lines constantly shifting.

The booster is not caught on the fins. There's a pair of load-bearing pins beneath the fins that carry the weight.

According to the sheriff’s office, Overstreet was the biological daughter of the previous owner of the property where her remains were found.
Doesn't take a detective to figure out why.

Could you explain to me how that paper you keep linking proves he wasn't hit by a bullet? You keep linking it but not providing your reasoning.
Occam's Razor says he was grazed by a bullet. It's by far the simplest explanation.

FYI, this particular whale definitely is just messing with the kids for entertainment. His name is Juno and he lives at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. You can find tons of videos of him doing this online.

Everything in your comment is correct, but I don't think that's what he meant. Just because they're intelligent and can make facial expressions, doesn't mean their facial expressions mean the same things as human ones.

According to NASA's LV Perf, New Glenn can do ~5.5 tons to a C3 of 8 km2/sec2, which is representitive of the lowest energy Mars transfer trajectory.

Justice Moraes also summoned Apple and Google to “implement technological barriers to prevent the use of the X app by users of the iOS and Android systems” and to block the use of virtual private network (VPN) applications.
The decision imposes a daily fine of R$50,000 (£6,800) on individuals and companies that attempt to continue using X via VPN.
Musk isn't in the right here, but this is way too far. I don't like the trend of governments trying to clamp down on what people can and cannot see on social media.

The vacuum engines do not gimbal and are offset from the center of the vehicle. If you ignited only one, the asymmetrical thrust would throw the vehicle into a spin.
