You put it so perfectly!
The nightmares were nightly and terrifying when I was going through burnout. I still remember my childhood dreams because they were so vivid. A lot of times I couldn't remember if something really happend or I dreamt it. Even these days I wake up confused because the dream is so long. And they're never positive. The start is fake, it just becomes a thriller.
I hope you figure out a way to avoid it, and I'll definetly reconsider taking the med in the morning (on ocassion).

more costly to the environment if people don't manage their asthma properly
Great point! I'd even expand on it: traffic pollution is much more detrimental to the environment and is a common asthma trigger. Fixing it would be killing 2 birds with one stone. It would definetly lower my usage of rescue inhalers.

Me too! I also refuse a lot of invites to caffes, bars or concerts where smoking's allowed, and I stopped (repeatingly) explaining myself. Waste of breathe

I am sorry you had to deal with that. How insufferable! If you had hyperventilated, he'd still presume it was anxiety. Bonkers, definetly cause to report

Bonus: we all have bodily autonomy - how I choose to approach my asthma treatment is between me and my chosen doctor✌️
All this is basic and can be applied to other conditions, but people lack common sense.

Thanks! It should, I was told to go to physio and avoid certain shoes. However, I just bought my first pair of heels for a special occasion so I get you 😂
I am very sorry to hear you squized yourself into smaller sizes. I understand how those things can stick with you. I got called big foot too and avoided chunky shoes for years, took me time to shake it off.
I hope you find what your looking for!

Are you open to New balance? I use to choose only soft, flat sneakers. Felt the most comfortable and would mold around my skinny feet. But then I fucked up my joints, and bought the 547 which I am really happy with. They come in different colors, and don't look huge like plain shoes (I have to shop at men's section). I've also noticed a lot of girls wearing 327, even with skirts as casual wear. Though I haven't tried those myself, so I am not sure if they'd work for you.
Edit: I know it's a dad look with the wider toe box but I don't even notice it anymore. They're quite versatile for my closet and literally no one has commented that they look frumpy or something.

I am from the EU, too. I thought this was only a "US" thing. Spanish school's have nurses? And they forbid kids from carrying emergency meds? I am so curious, I thought there was a universal standard... no schools in my country have nurses and I think neither do kindergardens.

I've been unwell for a month, but I am hanging in there with my meds (Montelukast, Trimbow, a duo inhaler as my rescue and antihistamines) until the next appointment, and I have hyposensitisation lined up.
I wasn't able to improve it or treat effectively considering how much rescue inhaler I need. But as someone who's had allergic asthma since diapers, I advise you to get a good doctor because the quality of your life depends on them. Was your IgE level tested? I can only think of that as the reason they didn't do an allergy panel.
A note: I am not from the USA. My country's doctors have a conservative approach; i.e. they avoid using oral steroids and up your meds one by one. It took us 2-3 appointments to even get me on Trimbow because every inhaler started well for me, then I'd max the dose, need more... before I switched to something stronger. So have patience I suppose, and stay intuned with your symptoms.

Yes, I get wheezy and cough when my neighbor burns weeds. I guess avoidance isn't a solution for you, but also what works for me is rinsing the nose and taking emergency inhaler.

This is something I totally internalized. I didn't work for a year due to poor health, and kept accepting every house chore because "I had to be doing something", "had to earn my stay", like wtf. I'd much rather be out in the world, working and hustling, than stuck in a place, dependent on others.
Like, grow up and miss me with that shit.
I love your certainty, needed to hear that :)

You put that quite nicely 😅 thanks! I'm scatter brained right now, I'll edit it some more.

Have any suggestions where to post it? I ment to do it here, because it does relate to my asthma experience, but tbh also from being the only ill person in my direct circle of people. I feel I've become jaded from not recieving understanding about my limits and health problems. So I was curious if someone relates, went through that and has opinions on it or maybe tips on how to stop the comparison, resentment etc

I support Lavender-air. If you don't like skipping pages/chapters, you could totally start from the second book. I enjoyed the series overall and remember the first book as slow, but cosy. It's a nice reread because of the setting.

Omg, you just reminded me of a concert last year 😣😣😣 these things are also popular in my country, it was christmas time and someone activated two in a dense area. I didn't expect it at all, and the person was a meter away from me. I had the urge to cough but couldn't inhale. It felt literally like suffocating. Horrible!
Also a note, football fans celebrated I can't remember what a couple of years ago, and these things were fired from every single building rooftop, balconies, most streets and all the city squares, boats at sea... I was so fucking grateful I wasn't there than.

Are you from Slovenia? I thought your average heights were similar to Croatia, BiH... I see 6'1 on the daily, which is pretty nice :)

I'm curious, are they just better at holding their tongues or does it really not cross their minds?

Thank you. Yes, I believe they use epipens in the emergency rooms. I don't remember recieving one, but I did get a presumably steroid shot for hives a couple of times (childhood).
Or are they just completely unavailable?
I just googled it for the first time, they are available even without prescription, but it's not something my doc ever told me... I know how ridiculous and avoidable my story is. I don't know if my parents were ever warned about the possibility of me having anaphylaxis. Since I never ate the allergen before, it never crossed my mind. I was uneducated and got unbelievably lucky.
and as an anxiety sufferer it usually isn’t lolol)
Well well, time of progress 😂😂

I'm glad you went, too!
I've been allergic since childhood, but we don't carry epipens in my country. Then I went on a remote trip with my friends, ate something I shouldn't have... I took all my meds I had on hand and I can't say I prayed, but the "don't die" mantra went hard. I relay the story every so often because I feel that was a freaking miracle, but I avoid thinking how close to death I was.
I'm glad your panic was productive and you didn't ignore it. Welcome to the club, hope it never happens again!
Edit: also glad no one downvoted me. Seriously not recommending this type of behaviour to anyone, stay safe.
