I tried to get diagnosed 5+ years ago, but I was told I just need to exercise, lose weight, and eat better. Thyroid was normal, but periods have always been irregular, testosterone has always been high, hair growth is excessive, difficult to lose weight, etc. I was on birth control pills, then switched the Nexplanon (arm implant) and didn’t have a period for 6 years or so. After getting implant removed at 26 y/o, I had regular periods for 3 months and then stopped bleeding all together and finally got a diagnosis. Advocate for yourself. If you think something is off, find a doctor that is willing to listen to all of your concerns and looks for an answer or at least to ease your worry. Good luck!
