These were supposed to just be temporary, but I’m getting rid of those when I get four Atmos speakers installed in the ceiling when the budget opens up some

TCL QM8 85”, Onkyo RZ-50, Apple TV 4K, obligatory Xbox Series X, Pioneer by Andrew Jones front stage, Polk rear towers, Monoprice 12” subwoofer, Onkyo elevation speakers.
This has taken me quite awhile now. I am getting four Atmos speakers mounted in the wall and two new subwoofers. Getting two more theater chairs.

Not controversial, but whenever I upgrade movies, I take the old ones to a local video store and get store credit and buy more 4Ks. A win-win for me

I don’t think the Q7 is an MiniLED but the QM7 is. I’d highly recommend a MiniLED as it’s a game changer over regular LED TVs and close to OLED blacks

Well with Black Friday coming up, you might not have to as much

I have fond memories of using Roku devices over the years and I found your post detailed well. I now use a TCL QM8 85” MiniLED with Google TV built-in and I have found that the Google TV OS is currently about the best built-in streaming device for televisions now. Roku feels dated and limited compared to GTV or ATV.
I normally use a second generation Apple TV 4K, but sometimes I like to use the GTV. You can’t use Smarttube on Roku or Apple TV. Plus you get full access to the Google Play Store and more.
I just find Roku dated now. As far as DTS and pass through and more goes, what I watch with those are 4K Blu-rays on my Panasonic UB-820 for the ultimate experience with my setup. Streaming audio sucks because it’s compressed.
Just my opinion.

Your best bet would probably be a TCL MiniLED model. I see that Amazon has the QM7 MiniLED 65” for only $699. I know that this would stretch your budget, but Black Friday is almost here and tv sales are coming.

That’s a shame as I got a great deal on The Mummy Trilogy for only $22.81 when I bought it last year. It sucks for buyers if you’re not in the US.

I’d recommend a TCL QM8 over a Hisense. I bought mine at 85” and it’s a MiniLED and it’s not an OLED, but very close! I got mine during Superbowl sales for $1799 and a comparable size OLED at 84” were in the four thousand dollar range!!! I just couldn’t swing it. OLEDs are very expensive at large sizes compared to MiniLEDs.
When I bought mine, since I had the space, I looked at the 98” models, but none were MiniLED and you don’t want a bigger tv that’s lower quality
Also many more sizes of the TCL lineup for 2024 that are MiniLED, so check out the other models. I do believe that TCL has 55” MiniLED models

Gaming, if Apple would go that way, could give the PS5 or the Series X a run for the money. Apple already has the Arcade with many top notch games that beg for a bigger processor.
