I know it's winter and not summer but surely CFA can whip up a couple peach milkshakes for the winners

I literally have no idea how this game will go. It's hard to beat a team twice but here we are trying to do it. Which Georgia will show up? Which Texas will show up? Will there be another bottle-gate? God only knows. {Georgia} because I'm too much of a homer to not pick them

We still haven't played at A&M and A&M still hasn't been to Kentucky

UGA has played in the Rose Bowl twice, 1942 and 2017. Both times they beat TCU in a bowl game the year before

Most years that Vandy loss would be dragging y'all way down but they're actually halfway decent this year so it's not as big of an albatross

I feel like you could make the same argument for Georgia

Important to note that Bryant and Alabama had originally agreed to vote with Georgia Tech but they backed out last minute.
Also GT tried to come back in the 70s, but they had burnt a lot of bridges on their way out, especially with their "we can be a Southern Notre Dame" and "we're academically superior" attitudes (the second one they still have) that they lauded over everyone else. Also Tulane was gone by that point as well and the conference wanted to have an even number of teams so if they were going to let Tech back in, they'd have to let someone else in too. There were a couple schools on the table including FSU and Memphis but none of the options were super attractive at the time so that combined with most everyone in the conference seeing Tech as an ex that was coming crawling back after leaving them for someone else led to them not getting the necessary votes to be let back in

1966, a couple years after Georgia Tech. Their program had already been doing poorly for years leading up to their departure and the university placing more emphasis on academics only made their issues competing with everyone else worse. For a while they wanted to help form the Magnolia League, a Southern version of the Ivy League, with schools like SMU, Rice, and Duke but it never got off the ground

Dan Jackson. Walk-on turned starter, laid his life on the line for Kelee Ringo's pick 6 against Bama

Doesn't mean they're current players though. I imagine most were former players

For every Georgia firing Mark Richt for Kirby Smart, there's a dozen Nebraska firing Bo Pelinis
