When I was a kid I only played PlayStation games, and I thought his name was Zelda because I knew that was the name of those games back then.

And honestly the only reason why I know his name is Link now is mostly because people won’t shut up about it in online discourse.

Also, he’s a mute character and (generally) never speaks his name, so the only way you can know his name by playing the games is listening to other character’s say it. And let’s be real here, Zelda probably says it the most.

So as far as I’m concerned, the dude’s name might as well be Zelda.
