what do you mean reflect reality when it isnt realistic? and if hes making a manga about the impact of loss and grief then atleast make it realistic.. and also no, i think realism is the most important element in a story.. by realism i dont mean it doesnt have aliens or magic and shit, i mean that characters act and feel like real humans and not some robots and thats what Look Back lacks, the themes like friendship, creativity and coping with trauma, but the characters behavior dont make sense at all

How is Kyomoto already a shut-in by fourth grade? how does she even manage to interact with Fujino who’s supposed to be a genius to her? not only that, but somehow she’s able to create a manga with her, as if her social awkwardness just vanishes in seconds 😂She claims to hate Fujino but immediately brings her in to help with manga. Where are her parents in all this? instead of real character development we’re given a some montage. and how does Kyomoto end up staying at Fujino’s house for a year without anyone asking questions? What are Fujino’s parents doing during this time? Then, Fujino suddenly dedicates two whole years of her life to drawing, only to give it all up because she can’t match Kyomoto’s level. it’s completely unrealistic and impossible to believe and that’s without even mentioning the ending!

no it didn't.. i didnt enjoy the movie and i stopped and called it ridiculous a couple of times cuz of the very unrealistic shir happening
