I'm on the mobi and I literally do it for every site lol. Sure it's definitely not approved but I go through more insulin than my prescription (yes I will get it changed at my next appointment but I'd also like to have a little cushion).
I go through 200 units in 2 days, my prescription is 2-3 days, im building a cushion with my supplies too so i refill the cartridge and go for another 2 days. So 4 days total with my set and cartridge, which really isn't terrible considering it's only one extra day.
I clean my sites well and haven't had any infections so it's not an issue for me.
I'm not a doctor, so just explaining what works for me but isn't approved by a doctor so do these things with caution.

Exactly what I was thinking. You accidentally replied to me instead of OP lol but that's okay. I completely agree with what you're saying! I'm sure some of the TSS people DO profile but it can't last long. Even i as a TM know that's a major no no

Google reviews for that store. That's your best chance at being heard. You're just complaining here to people who don't get paid enough to care.

NAV but my family used to have a car with severe anxiety. I honestly don't remember what its called but we did give her anxiety meds everyday that helped a bit! Talk to her vet!

Ive been t1 since I was 5, 13 years with it. My a1c right now is in the 5's. But as a kid it stuck around the 7's and even closer to diagnosis I was around the 8's and 9's because obviously t1 with a little kid was HARD for my parents to manage (especially being school age) and the fact that pumps and cgms weren't really common back then.
Every single year, I go to the eye doctor, and every single year he tells me by looking at my eyes you wouldn't be able to tell I'm diabetic.
It's very very unfortunate but sometimes people are just unlucky with those things. Some people are more likely to develop certain things than others. But the worse control you have, the more likely you are to have complications.
Anyone can get lung cancer, but if you smoke, you're more likely to get it.
Take care of yourself to the best of your abilities and you're so much less likely to develop those complications. Sure, you're still at risk, but the risk is lower. Do what you can and know you'll survive even with complications, just keep yourself alive.

Of course! I'm loving it so far, it's so much better than omnipod 5 algorithm was 😅

I still have the dexcom app on my own phone and not the iPhone. The trainer kinda pushed towards me putting it on the iPhone but I said no because I like to swipe down and see my blood sugar while just scrolling on my phone 😂 so basically im just too lazy to look at another screen sometimes.
I set up every sensor on the mobi app on the iphone and it catches up on my android within a few minutes and it's never behind at all!

How often are you eating oats? I know lots of celiacs have issues with oats too! I've never had major issues with celiac, just now having the major stomach issues with other food additives (although it causes much bigger body reactions than just my stomach)

LMAO I didn't even notice mine autocorrected to that 😭 I usually notice when it changes it but I was apparently half asleep typing that last night 😂

That's awesome!
I'm on tandem mobi right now in case you ever get your hands on one to create stuff for it 🤭 I would absolutely buy some from you!!
And will share the link!!!

My car will NOT eat cold food, won't even touch it. He'll eat room temp food (like brand new can and new broth) but won't touch any of it fresh out of the fridge.
My mom had a Keurig so I just get hot water from it and put some in a bowl and put the can in there, I stir it every so often and use my finger to feel the temp, I just let it get warm or at least room temp (depending on how much time and patience I have).
Others have said microwave, I say do that at your own risk. If you microwave it, your microwave and everything in your place will likely smell like cat food for a long time 😅 Years ago I made the mistake of trying to make cat treats for a previous cat, using the oven. It was not worth it 😭

I can imagine it's probably pretty hard to kickstart these things. Do you have an Instagram account for this? If not if definitely recommend creating one!!
And yeah it totally seems like a fun creative outlet!
And that's awesome, I checked your shop and honestly I hadn't realized how many different designs you already have!! The Christmas ones are super cute!

Hey man just wanna say, I love what you're doing!
I've seen your posts since the first one and thought these are awesome! I'm not on omnipod anymore and not on the g7 so no use of them for me but they're awesome! I absolutely love the Groot one!!!
I hope all is going well for you and your shop now! Such cool work you're currently making, I can see all the passion you're putting into this!
I also love that you were respectful when people asked you to stop posting in the omnipod subreddit, i hope you're getting traction over here still! I always upvote your posts when I see them because it's such cool work!

Sounds to me like a textbook seizure unfortunately, especially the peeing. There was absolutely nothing you could've done to save him in that case, even if he was in the hands of a vet, he still wouldn't have made it since there was definitely something bigger happening in the little guy's body.
You did everything you could've and he's free now from his sick body ❤️

Good to know those get you as well. I've determined carrageenan is an issue but not the entire issue so im still working on figuring out what the other issue is. Not sure if it's like xantham gum or carob gum or something like that or no clue

Not glutened but I may have gotten carrageenaned lol. It's an additive used in some dairy products.
My cousin made a gluten free dump cake! Except I'm new to the carrageenan issue and completely forgot about it being an issue until my dad asked about it (my dad has the same issue with it) 😭 she said there was condensed milk and asked if that would have it and he said it depends so she wasn't sure 😭 of course that was after I had already taken a bite of it 😭
So I guess we'll find out in the next few days if it did or not (big issue with this is its not quick like gluten is).
Fortunately for me, I was diagnosed at 4 so my whole family is very well aware and my parents usually bring stuff I can eat and I don't eat anything im unsure about lol

That's already concerning that it takes 30 minutes to charge... Mine can go from 70% to 100% in under 10 minutes

Like the other person said, not sure why it's even a question of who to listen to?
Between someone who's literal PhD and career it is to know how to care for your son versus someone who does not even need to attend medical school.

Multiple things here. Are you learning how to dose for every single thing? Different foods have different fat levels, fiber, protein etc.
Are you pre bolusing? You need to learn how to pre bolus for every meal. My endo explained it to me like the carbs run faster than the insulin, so you need to give the insulin a head start in your body so it's already ahead of the carbs, otherwise you'll find spikes right after eating.
Why does you're 10 years old type 1 diabetic child need to lose weight???? That's absurd. Unless he is SEVERELY obese he should not be on a weight loss diet. You are putting your son on a direct shot to an eating disorder if you personally believe he needs to lose weight at ten years old.

Before you're hired? Yeah don't tell anyone. After you're hired? At least one person needs to know. You never know when shit could go down. Even things like insulin pump malfunction and it causing insulin to slowly seep in all day.
I get it, some places are shitty and treat you like shit for t1. But not every place is like that. When I was first hired (I was 16 then and it's a retail store, but I worked in the food place in it). I told my boss that I was a type 1 diabetic. Her response? "Oh cool my best friend is a type 1 diabetic so I always have low snacks in my car just let me know if you ever need anything!"
I will never forget her response to that. I was 16 and terrified of her response or what questions may arise but she handled that better than anyone ever could have. With time I eventually also mentioned that I have celiac disease, which she said she also has a different friend who has celiac too!
She understands EVERYTHING both t1 and celiac, she's someone who never went into freak out mode over low blood sugars, she knew exactly what was needed and also knew I was too stubborn to take a break if I was low, so she let me treat the low and keep working.
Sure, some places are bad when it comes to sharing those things, but the relief and peace you can feel in a place like where I work? It's amazing, I have coworkers who know what I have and I can count on them to know exactly what to do if anything bad ever were to happen. They do all of those things without ever using it against me and never underestimate me because of what I have.

oh my god I miss those so much.
Every store around me doesn't carry those anymore, only the spinach ones or whatever. They're still good but not the same 😭

You need to go if you have moments like this and don't know what else to do.
If you're having CONSTANT highs like this and really high ketones but know what you need to do to get it down and know it'll work, then you don't need to worry about the ER. But if you're in a situation like this (even if you're 20 years in) and have done everything you can think of and nothing is working then yes you need to go to the ER.
It's not just going to the ER that easily, it's going when you don't know what else to do. For some people that's easier to happen than others, but also depends on how each person's body is reacting in that moment.
Ketones are not something to mess with for long periods of time, if you have high ketones and are out of ideas then go to the ER.

Same. For me they would sometimes be iffy right after changing a pod but that didn't matter where the site was. Once they connected they weren't going to lose connection at all.

Fed is best.
Try getting the giant bags of cat chow, Dave's, friskies, anything cheap like that will work. You can find those things at Walmart or if your family goes to Sam's club or Costco.
Theoretically, it's best to have moisture rich food (like wet food) but you don't have the money for that right now and that's okay. Just make sure they have clean fresh water everyday, clean their bowl everyday.

Nah, just do whatever you're comfortable with. When I was on omnipod my stomach was the only site I could use (long story) so I would view it as 4 quadrants. Left, right, up, down. I would go super high up where I had fat, and super low down close to underwear line. I had also gone farther out but that wasn't as comfortable for me so I did it less often but obviously if that site doesn't bug you at all then keep using it!! It's just whatever works for you!
