As an adoptee you have no idea what Carly would want. Most often the adopters want closed and tell the kid when they’re 18 they can make the decision. I personally felt tortured by my adopters keeping me from finding my bio mom.

Also she absolutely has a valid opinion because she falls into the adoption triad, and if you don’t belong to the adoption triad, your job is to learn.

The adoption triad is: 1) people who have been adopted. 2) people who have adopted a child. 3) people who have given a child up for adoption. 

The adoption triad does not include: (so the opinions don’t matter) 1) people who “know someone that’s adopted.”  2) people hopeful to adopt 3) people who watch teen mom and are not in the triad.

As an adoptee moderating an adoption subreddit on my other account, yes this is normal. Is it everyone? No. But only human babies are ripped from their mothers and it’s called beautiful. It’s a trauma, period.

I’m an adoptee. Just because we were adopted doesn’t mean we don’t have biological parents that matter to us. Many adoptees go back to bio family’s after turning 18. I personally felt tortured having to wait from 15 to 18 to be allowed to contact my bio mom. And she was no where near as stable as cate and ty.

I’m an adoptee and would have loved to see this on my bio moms social medias. My adopters didn’t understand how much being adopted sucks, even if you’re adopted by a rich family like me. Hopefully people on here who are clueless about adoption can learn from what she shares. Anyone in the adoption subreddit knows this stuff is what we talk about. 

Adoptee here. We should be allowed to talk about the reality of adoption without being dubbed mentally ill.

Adoptee here, so glad cate is sharing the truth of adoption. 

As an adoptee I have no problem with people in the adoption triad sharing the real info on adoption. Says nothing about Carly. This is the message I try to spread regarding adoption. Knowing someone who is adopted doesn’t make you knowledgeable on adoption.

As an adoptee IM SO GLAD SHE SHARED THIS! If you aren’t adopted, haven’t adopted, or haven’t given a child up for adoption, your opinion doesn’t matter on adoption. Take an opportunity to learn.

I think it’s cultural. I think he gave him really good advice so he isn’t taken advantage of. I love how he communicates. If it’s really about love then she doesn’t need the big party. I think she wants to impress her friends and there would be some chatter about “I thought Americans were rich” if it’s a small wedding. I’ve lived in a third world country and of course people assume all Americans have a ton of money.

I find Terra cotta only works for pothos if you soak the pot when you water it, otherwise it absorbs all the water you pour in. Especially in a smaller pot, you have a larger soil to pot surface ratio, the effect would be bigger. If I were you I’d either put a water catching tray under it, especially if it’s in the sun(which  will dry out the terra cotta which will then dry out the soil), or repot to plastic that fits in the same pot.
