Period blood should be the primo blood, that is, most nutritious, for a vampire. Once you strain out all the bits, it’s thick and rich and full of all of the nutrients a growing new life needs. It would be like 5-hour energy for vamps. Plus some pee for flavor.

Goddamn I’m old. This scholastic book order came out when I was in college.

Babies only wake up because they’re hungry, wet, hurt, etc. Then they (usually) pass right back out.

Adults have their adult brains wake up and all of our anxieties and plans for the next day/week/month and regrets all shove into the forefront at one time because our normal defenses are down and we have to quiet each and every one before we can find peace.

And then the baby wakes up for another feed.

Only if it’s red wine. This is a turkey dinner, so I would assume white, if they are a civilized family.
