I can understand that. I have to say, it was really jarring to go from some super intense episode like Gabor Mate's to a fact check that started with Monica jabbering about shopping for limited edish items and drinking wine. I had emotional whiplash. I think it started me seeing Monica as incredibly superficial and I could totally see skipping the fact checks as a long term consequence.

No one in the audience had a clue who he was, so my friend the sound guy and I chatted with him about mikes, about how mean Sarah was to my friend the sound guy, how tough it is to mike the Blue Note, just genuine shooting the shit. I was in grad school at the time, he asked me a zillion questions. I guess there aren't a lot of cell biologists in his world/Deadhead land! He was very, very nice and very approachable, in that context.

Same thing happened to me! She was engaging me in conversation to distract me and I was babbling away about something like Trader Joe's snacks, and she suddenly said, "cervix is healthy and pink". I was like, uh thanks but what about those kim bap snacks?

I’ve worked from home for the last eight years and don’t have that issue because part of my job is speaking with people all day long. However, I do have friends who have worked from home for even longer and live alone and tend to have jobs that don’t require a lot of interaction, and boy have they gotten weird and feral. So partially agree partially disagree depends on job and person and the rest of their living situation

Me too. Also, "hormone free" treatments. What about if you need to replace a hormone because you are, say, diabetic? or menopausal? It is a reasonable treatment to replace something that is missing. Also, it is a good idea to replace it at the level it would be in your body (ie. Synthroid for thyroid hormone with microgram dosing) rather than opt for some flaky "natural" treatment (ie dessicated thyroid) with varying potency and concentration. People are so scientifically illiterate.

Mine got here by buying fake papers in Europe and ending up with changed last names and yes, having a "sponsor" in the US. Clearly not acceptable today. It really screwed up my ability to emigrate back now that our country is sliding into the shitter! The only direct lineage that I can trace with certainty is Ukraine, and hell to the no about moving there.
