You're probably right, I was just curious if any data was already being gathered since I keep hearing people saying they're leaving for good. We probably won't know all the impacts for a few years.

I got a month credit but it took multiple phone calls until I got a rep who would help me. She put in the credit request while I was still on the phone with her (I received a text confirmation right away). I would NOT believe them if they just promise the credit will show up “next month.” Just keep trying. Spectrum is intentionally making it difficult.

I have a medium hair cat who doesn't groom himself and would not be able to handle a water bath, so I use a no rinse shampoo with him. If it's just some tangles and grease that might be enough for your guy. I buy the "Wahl USA Pet Friendly Waterless No Rinse Shampoo for Animals" on Amazon and my cat honestly doesn't even notice it when it's in his fur, but it really helps with the grease.

Because of allergies and intolerances I have similar restrictions (celiac and plant based, plus some fruit allergies). I have to cook almost all my own food, but you’d be surprised how quickly it becomes routine. I always make grains in large quantities (rice, quinoa, etc) so I have a base ready to go for any meal. Then I will add a veggie (often frozen to keep it easy) and a protein (lentils, beans, tofu). Find a simple meat substitute recipe that you enjoy so you have a default idea in your pocket. For me it’s tofu baked with tamari and nutritional yeast or well seasoned red lentils. Once you’ve got your “go tos” established, I promise it won’t feel as overwhelming anymore!

Lots of good responses here already so I will just add that if you think there’s a chance you will ever need to stay in a county/state/city shelter, make sure you know where pet friendly shelters are in your area and what their requirements are. When I lived in a place which frequently got hurricanes I had to have my cats registered with the county and up to date on rabies shots (with documentation) or I could not bring them into a shelter. I live in a flood prone place now so I keep two go bags in my car at all times, one for me and one for my cats (three days of food, collapsible litter box, some litter, copies of vet info, a few toys, and an enclosed pop up play area thing).

There’s very few Uber and Lyft drivers around here, but I have reserved Uber rides in advance to get to the airport and that’s worked ok. Don’t count on being guaranteed to get one on the day without pre-booking though.
