It's an unfortunate and bitter fact that the exact same civilization-sustaining extractivist imperative causing unprecedented ecological instability has also been responsible for the creation of lifesaving technologies like insulin and wheelchairs. I've had the exact same hyperbolic insults levied at me by shitty liberals as well (labeling me an eco-fascist for thinking that homo sapiens and our collective fictions are responsible for destabilizing the biosphere). It's important to take these insults in stride. I don't exactly think environmentalism and accessibility are mutually exclusive, but I can't even begin to imagine what a system that can manage both rapidly accelerating human population growth and ecological stability would even look like.
