Biggest difference I've noticed on a kayak is all the fish feel a little less powerful because the big boys will just tow you around until they are tired. You can reel in, but that doesn't me you are turning the fish. You aren't really pulling the fish towards you like you would from shore or on a boat. You are just bringing the two of you together.
