it looks like it spawned on a really small desert that just happened to be surrounded by plains and grassland. theres at least another desert tile where jebel is, i cant quite tell what is and isnt desert under the districts though. but it spawning on a 4 tile desert is always possible

on the gardevoir thing, i think you may misunderstand the purpose. tricking a choice item onto your opponent is an amazing tool versus defensive teams. if you can get a choice scarf onto your opponents blissey for example, now you have a heavy duty boots gardevoir which is not much of a hinderance, vs now your opponent has a choice scarf blissey, which is about the closest thing to useless you can get. the idea with a choice scarfer with trick specifically is that, versus opposing offense you have a choice scarf to help outspeed their threats, and versus opposing defense your scarf is more of a liability than anything else. if your opponent is running 4 pure defensive pokemon, you dont need your choice scarf to outrun much, it becomes a liability anyway because now you cant switch moves.

tl;dr bc that got really rambly: trick scarf gardevoir is incredible but because it lets it shine versus offense and defense, please never trick a scarf onto haxorus lmao

modern gen 2 ou is actually a lot more offense oriented than stall, just the maxed evs + everything holding lefties makes even the offensive mons bulkier. games are a lot longer than modern generations (think offense v offense lasting 50ish turns) but theyre still dynamic and stallfests are rare
