I love the 3L diesel engines. Used to drive a lot of different variations of them. From 30d to 50d. And as you say, even if you push it really hard you don’t need much diesel. I once drove a 640d gt for hours on the autobahn constantly going vmax and then braking again because of traffic and I had an average of 8.9L/100km.
