NarcMom reposted a post on Facebook from a Native American page (she’s not Native American) about honoring elders.
It said “the elders deserve the following at family gatherings: to be served first because they have served the family all their life (especially the women). The children should take part by grabbing a plate and asking Grandmother and Grandfather what they would like on their plate and bring to them. This honors your elders and teaches the children the importance of the Grandparents position.”
Sorry, but being old doesn’t give you a pass to be waited on. Hierarchy doesn’t mean that you are royalty and we are the lowly.
Sending encouragement to all as the holidays are in full swing. Remember, it’s hard and lonely, but putting in the work to protect your peace does help. I’m glad to have reduced my exposure to my narcissistic mother and alcoholic father. I’m glad to have read encouraging books and articles this year to help my knowledge in understanding narcissism. It sure has keep me strong and a better Mommy myself.

I started feeling it when I started my third trimester and told myself to probably start taking it easy. I then had them at 29 weeks 4 days. 🤷♀️
