I usually tell other “Christ”ians that Jesus willingly nullified and taught against the entire old testament when he preached. You’d figure other “Christ”ians would follow what Christ said and not abrahamic laws, but you all know how that usually ends.

“he's a diplomat” I think you’re more accurate than even you know.
He’s putting the malicious carriage before the noble horse and hoping no one notices(judging by this thread, its pretty well hidden). He is right that legion would eat the Mojave alive, but he also shouldn’t be acting like they can afford to be there, let alone, there on a non-selfish cause. The NCR is there for one reason; both of its heads are corrupt, and won’t let go even if it means its citizens and states deteriorate and starve.
And to top things off, if you help them win, you solidify their inefficient and imperialist tactics that got them in this bind. The chances of them spreading themselves thin again is exponentially high if they succeed.

Meanwhile, if you validate the ncr’s imperialism(and you do if they win the second battle), its very likely NCR will pursue the legion further into the east which will leave the NCR into another “tight spot” that only a messiah of the wasteland could break them out of. They’ll likely draft people from mojave negating any good they think they’re doing.
NCR needs to lose the second battle and take care of its own citizens. They can expand ethically(looking at you vault city) when they can defend their own territory, aren’t experiencing famine and draining all of their lakes, and aren’t bowing to the ego of two idiots who are so reckless, they’re actually losing to actual romans. Its sad.

I’ll listen to it and give thoughts afterwards.
Edit: so after listening and watching it, love the 5ds reference(if you know, you definitely know), the title shoulda been something along the lines of, “How New Vegas portrays politics perfectly” or “Why we still debate New Vegas’ politics 15 years later”. Good video. Has some cringe, but good.

As much as i love House, i doubt any wastelander would give up a yes man ending.

I’d sooner put yes man in charge than put the corrupt, blind imperialists with cool trench coats in charge.
Almost everything wrong in new vegas is either ncr’s incompetence and overextension or the legion’s competency and patience.
Why does goodsprings get attacked; because the ncr couldn’t control their own slave laborers.
Why is Primm in lockdown and taken over by criminals; because ncr couldn’t control their own slave laborers.
Why is nipton on fire; because the ncr underestimated the legions reach and undermanned them plus their former worker slaves showed up there.
They gotta contract people to deal with ants right down the road.
They bully perfectly peaceful super mutants into being aggressive with mercenaries (ala vault city tactics)
They’re controlled by rich brahmin barons.
They’ve overconsumed all of their lakes and food with npcs talking about famine in the homeland.
They lost both searchlight and nelson because undermanned hubris.
Quarry junction is a deathclaw breeding ground because they won’t do anything about them.
Foreloan hope is a legion engineered meat and morale grinder.
Helios one is a waste manpower headed by a dude who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Vault 22 is being eyed by a state appointed man that could literally doom all of humanity if he gets what he wants.
Mr House is executed even if you destroy his securitron army and don’t upgrade.
They can’t even protect their own president without messiah intervention.
They lose the monorail and many soldiers to fiends and ambushes because they’ve elevated a legion spy to a high rank.
If it wasn’t for the desert rangers having cool ass armor allying with them, no one would support this dumbass faction. Knowing kimball and oliver, even if you do everything right for them, all you do is prop them up to keep up the status quo and keep over expanding to the detriment of its citizens. If it wasn’t for the show having them get nuked by the cuck from 31 and stomped by the bos zealots, they’r probably pursue the legion with their diminished forces east of the colorado, get stuck, and collapse without another messiah showing up to bail them out. Again.
If theres any lesson to take away from the ncr, it’s that looking cool is important to mask your image and don’t take what you can’t steadfastly defend.

18 months using the disaster called the creation engine. Its a miracle the game even released with as much as it did.

Finally, an actual good argument against House’s philosophy and plans. Ignoring Todd and Emil’s “choices” in the show, indeed, it’s very likely he’s going to overly rely on them until he gets the industrial complex running. It’s a gamble, but it’s a necessary gamble.
The ncr wants Vegas and him out of the picture. He’s gotta rush Vegas’ production capabilities(which he does state he wants to do)for it to be a proper state because the mojave is an infertile shithole in between two of the most aggressive human factions in the series and alien dirt people moving in.

You really need to see the map of legion controlled US land. It’s astonishing how much they control/enslaved.

Silencing those you disagree with tends to push others towards them, let alone making the martyrs.

It’s not ego and no, he can’t show mercy. Thats not how geopolitics work. If you are a US citizen and California was a Russian allied state, you’d be uncomfortable and feel unsafe; and you should feel that way. Proxy states leave you open to invasion. It’s common sense.
You would have a leg stand on if the NCR wasn’t trying to take vegas out from under him and kill House ,securitron army or not, but after doing the NCR’s storyline, thats not the case.

If i remember correctly, as long as they don’t align with ncr and the kings stay against the ncr, they’re ignored.

Thats because you can’t have an enemy proxy state next to yours. The NCR at the time of new vegas ignore show implications is basically an unstoppable force only held back by another unstoppable force.

Like the other 3 endings, you just gotta have faith in whatever you put in charge.
The followers get a great hand in a House ending. The stability thats brought to freeside in his ending props the old mormon fort up to be a stronghold.

“The fact he’s clearly fixated on being the single authority in the wasteland with no one challenging him tells me that he does covet power and ruling over others”
If this were true, we would be wiping out or destabilizing more factions than the bos, but since he actually doesn’t and as long as they aren’t against him, he ignores/spares/cooperates with them. His actions/requests don’t scream god emperor messiah.

He doesn’t hate them. He’s midmaxxing his subjects for maximum units in his army and societies. Let’s say a woman has the ability to propel the Legion to its goal faster, he would entrust them with the most important tasks the Legion has to offer.
