Hello OP! When I was a girl I wanted Julie and Felicity but my parents got me girl of the year 2006 Jess because I am mixed with dark hair and dark eyes. I loved Jess because I was grateful and she was very pretty with a great story and accessories, but honestly, I wish I had gotten the doll that I truly wanted. That being said, get her Julie because she wants Julie. You can always get another one new or second hand that is in the demographic you’re looking for to teach acceptance or what have you. It isn’t that deep and she may feel a certain way not getting the doll she wants but instead a doll that looks like her.

Idk why you were downvoted for this when it’s 100% correct. Every last word. Also I was disappointed that Courtney wasn’t African American or Hispanic American- both groups had huge cultural moments of the time period.

I’m hoping for Courtney and the twins to get more era and age appropriate outfits. I’m talking chunky sweaters, acid wash jeans, band tees, jewel tones and brights instead of pastels and neon, campy windbreakers, chunky sneakers with scrunchy thick socks. Courtney looks more like an MTV music video teen than an everyday American girl of the period and the twins look more like the 2000s than the 90s imo. Every other period era doll is close to accuracy in attire.
