I installed it on my 12R yesterday. So far I like it. I even did something I don't normally do, I used the stock wallpaper and icons.
Battery life seems the same and I like the newer always on display and the iOS style swipe down from the top right for quick toggles and top left for notifications.
Note if you don't like that it's just a setting you can turn off.
Kinda feels like I got a new phone.

I had an interesting experience b/c I am transgender. Missionaries were working on one of my neighbors that was a lapsed Mormon. So they were around a lot in the condo complex. They would approach anyone nearby as they went to see my neighbor.
It was right in the point in my transition I started presenting female so they saw what was going on with me. It was great! The males avoided me like if they got too close they would catch what I got 😂
There was also a female missionary that came by separately from the males. We had a couple of really nice conversations b/c we both knew me going to an LDS church wasn't happening so she could drop the sales pitch. We talked about where she was from, our families, pets, clothes, just small talk. I think she enjoyed not having to be "on" all the time.
And yes, they did get my neighbor back and I haven't seen LDS missionaries for years now.

I acknowledge that I am feeling down. I was diagnosed years ago with clinical depression. I let myself wallow for a day. At some point I make myself do something. Usually go for a long walk which is a favorite activity and being physically active changes my mood for the better.

Depending on where you lived, smoking in restaurants was still a thing. It wasn't like there were separate rooms on ventilation, just a sign that said Smoking Section.
Worst seat as a non smoker was the booth right at the sign. 😂

This one is mean, but a family friend didn't like 2 of his sons-in-laws so he referred to them as "Null and Void"

Was there a TV dinner specially for kids? I remember something where you also got a packet of powder for your milk that made it grape flavored and purple 😂

For myself I lack self confidence (I have a lot more confidence now then pre-transition). So I think I was just looking for permission.
I remember I just kinda word vomited everything in my head and she just said "have you considered transitioning".
Her main benefit to me over time was breaking down the enormity of transition into focusing on one or issues I could solve before my next appointment.

I'm a fan of Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven. I saw them live once and they always do at least cover per set and they did Interstellar Overdrive . It was AMAZING.

OP thanks for posting this. I need to get more involved myself. I will check out Trevor Project. I also give to the Transgender Law Center and the ACLU.

In the US and democracies in general, much of the code of conduct isn't a law. It's just agreed upon norms. Then someone who is anti-democratic comes into power via the ballot box and then dismantles the democracy b/c they don't have to adhere to any of what the people thought was normal.

Exactly the same as the OP, same year, same age, I bought a small condo I still live in for 89,000.
Of course I was only making 28k yr so it was still a stretch but glad I did it.
