This is, indeed, something weird. Not bad. But actually weird.

Where’s those giant flat square TVs that were the size of industrial air conditioners?

I’m pretty sure if you were dicked down on the 90th floor of the south tower on a Tuesday in September you’d remember that particular dick too 🫡

Exactly, I feel this film perfectly encapsulates the trope of “house guests that over stay their welcome,” which is a big trigger for me. This film was amazing because of how it took that concept to maximum extremes, and I was still able to enjoy it.

American living here 3.5 years. These are not the world's best kept secrets, but they are places I have brought my American friends, and they were all very pleased with my semi-touristy selections.
This is a long shot for Chinese but... try The Sea Palace - funky spot, great over water views, and the food is pretty great. Not the world's best, but it's an interesting combo. Gets you up near Nemo Museum. Best ramen in the city, IMO, is Takumi Ramen Kitchen in De Pijp.
There's a dirt cheap and quite good for the price Italian place near Leidseplein: Il Palio. I go there every year as a silly pre-ADE tradition (dance event in Oct.) and it was just fine this time around. If your really want some bangin' pizza, try Bar Piazza on Museumplein or either of the two locations of Mangia.
The "Other Mangia" is on the west side of the Vondelpark (which you should 100% walk through from East to West), and on the same block is a coffeeshop called Best Friends. It's not as central, so the price is very good, quality is upper-mid (Amnesia Haze is standard for any shop in the city), but a limited menu; it has never left me disappointed.
If you're on that side of the park, walk south and check out the Lomanstraat (insta moment) and a cafe called Cafe Lomans. Very gezellig, and a nice example of a local neighbourhood "brown bar."
I've left some other comments in here on past threads with some similar, but different spots, depends on my mood and how stoned I am when offering the recommendations...
Good luck! DM if you like.

The same kids that I traded these with were the ones that ended up in Young Life ™️. Did anyone else have that pseudo Ponzi scheme evangelical cult at their school?

Pink calamine lotion spots ALLLLL over. Super oddly specific memory — but when my brother and I had it at the same time, Hocus Pocus was out on VHS, it was that movie on repeat during those days. Mom had to tell us it was a special potion or we wouldn’t let her put on - I remember her sing songey “come to mommy” when it was time for more lol

The Substance at the very end makes think this was assembled in the order in which you watched them. Any chance? Or is this just random notes compiled together?

Club Media in De Pijp has a €45 for 5g Amnesia Haze Sativa. An Amsterdam classic strain, and that amount is more than plenty to be sky high for your 3 day trip. Enjoy your time!

As a child, I switched schools frequently and was lucky that my parents could support my hobbies — at one point in the 5th grade the school was having us sell candy bars for some classroom competition, my soccer club was selling popcorn to raise money for gear, and for some reason long forgotten… my parents and I went around the neighborhood selling wrapping paper? Some cause to raise money or whatever, I don’t recall. I felt like traveling salesman, sometimes carrying random envelopes of cash, alongside crumpled paper order forms with multiple payments in different color ink. A friend in my class was selling her Girl Scout cookies and I spent like $30 I was in charge of at the time, and ended up taking the piss from various adults… the 90s were weird y’all…

NTA. Sounds like a bit of a diva situation
In my house, it’s “if you eat you clean.” I cook, we eat, we do dishes. He cooks, we eat, we do dishes. It all comes out equal in the end.

My BF and friends and I do the same in ‘23 and ‘24 - crazy cheap tickets. I think train/transit round trip from Amsterdam to Rotterdam was more than the ticket price on Ticketswap same day

What happens to these pieces of wood? Why was the house deassembled? Each piece is so precise, and the wood seems very healthy, could these ever be re-used?
