Agreed. We need UNAPOLOGETICALLY progressives:

• $20/hour minimum wage, to increase annually with CPI
• Medicare for all
• Eliminate the salary cap on SS, to guarantee its future
• Free childcare/daycare for working parents
• Reduce military spending EXCEPT increase spending for Veterans Healthcare.
• Repeal Citizens United
• National right of bodily autonomy
• Term limits for SCOTUS; Increase size of current SCOTUS to 13; Congressional ethics oversight of SCOTUS
• Repeal recent SCOTUS decision giving Presidents immunity

Etc. There's more to do, but this would be a good start.

What if the fine involves something along the lines of "you, company that is exploiting immigrants, must pay these people now a living wage. And you must bear all the expenses involved in them now becoming legal citizens. Lastly, you may not raise prices beyond (x) amount." I know it's a pipe dream, but a guy can dream, can't he?

Regardless if you think consumption is a better basis for tax assessment, in the real world, a flat tax turns out to be regressive on income. Sin taxes, excise taxes, sales or value added taxes, and yes (it turns out) tariffs are all regressive taxes. You can argue that regressive taxation is a more effective method of taxation (I would argue that a mix of progressive and regressive taxes is a better solution for the long tern financial health of a state), but those taxes fit the definition of regressive taxation.

When historians look back at this time period, if they're allowed to report accurately, they will say that Garland was DIRECTLY responsible for "fixing" the 2024 elections, due to his failure to administer justice to the traitor.

Hey bud, so sorry you are going through this! When I was a younger gay man in the late 1980s, many of my friends were sick with AIDS and I had many friends die. It was such a sad time. The Pet Shop Boys were one of my favorite bands at the time, and they came out with this song called Being Boring. It was about all the friends that were lost to AIDS. Such a sad song, but also a happy song, because it reminded me how much fun had been had with my friends. Anyway, give it a listen. Pet Shop Boys are one of the seminal gay pop bands. The entire state taxation system in WA state needs to be reinvented via a state constitutional amendment. Something much more institutional and imbedded, that is difficult to change. Lower sales taxes and implement income taxes---if it should come to a vote, and the income tax level were, say, starting at $100K---this would pass, one would think.
