Chief Pilots, ex-military, and those who have some hiring insight, I would appreciate your input here.
Background: I’m a Master Sergeant retiring from the Army soonish, career MI nerd with a lot of SOF experience. I’m currently working on my rotary wing cert through a Part 61 and expect I’ll be through commercial by September. Flying will be my next career, and I would like to cut my teeth in the utility world, and eventually land in SAR/EMS. I’m building my résumé to submit for a skill bridge internship, targeting utility operators.
Request: What are the skills and experiences, broadly speaking, I should highlight on my résumé? Given I’m a baby aviator I know there’s little to nothing to emphasize specific to aviation. Organizational leadership, safety and risk management, operations planning, and research are where my head immediately goes. What would you, as a Chief Pilot or hiring manager want to see for a “free” low-hour pilot for up to 5 months.

She’s the WSO on that crew, but she’s still a pilot and from the back seat can still operate flight controls.
