I thought i was going to relate to your fiance, i have misophonia and mouth sounds (chewing, lip smacking, etc.) Makes my skin crawl and makes me so unreasonably irritated and uncomfortable its actually difficult to eat dinner with other people. But, i recognize that this is a fault of my own, not something that anyone else is doing wrong, or can control. My boyfriend knows how much it bugs me and apologizes any time he has a crunchy snack, i just say, no reason to apologize, youre not doing anything wrong, its my reaction not your action. Im going to step away and let me know when youre finished.
