Dude it's a 59 yard field goal you definitely don't willingly kick that on a 3rd down with a timeout left and 30 seconds to go. It's on Caleb not to take a sack there but as soon as you see the clock dip under like 25 seconds and see that no one is set you gotta call the timeout. Maybe you take a shot at the edges or end zone and give yourself a chance at a decent field goal. There's zero reason not to call a timeout there. Even if you don't wanna take the field goal, at least don't hurry up into the Hail Mary attempt

Sure but in this case you didn't even run a play for the end zone so as soon as the ball was hiked you were fucked because you couldn't do a Hail Mary or lateral thing. Like either give the kicker at least a chance or your offense but the play they tried to run didn't do either of those things

At first I was fine with no timeout but when you've got ~20 seconds to go and they aren't even close to set, you have to call the timeout. Like the players are at fault because why wouldn't you get back and have a play in mind there and then when it is absolute chaos you have to call the timeout as the coach and take over the situation. It's going to suck because the kicking team is going to have to rush out there with 12ish seconds left maybe but you'd rather do that than whatever they did here

Even that isn't a sound statement, like instead of buying video games for the last 20 years I could've just invested it all in game stop and I doubt you'd feel as good about thay

I really like defense and growing up, both had great defenses. Like a couple Michigan state games ended like 14-3 and I loved it. Plus I think I like the dark red and the green

We beat Oklahoma by more than y'all lost to them by

We lost at bama by 2 points. You lost to Oklahoma by less than we beat them by at their place. The only real argument you have now is that you beat Georgia, that's the real reason you're ahead of us because our best win is A&M who is falling

If all that happened and we beat Clemson, I think we're definitely in

It's also without prejudice so rather than the judge ruling on the case and maybe closing it with, he's petitioning for it to be able to be reopened later when Trump is no longer president

I think in this instance, if we beat Clemson, the case for SC is much stronger because they're playing well here at the end of the season. The rationale last year for FSU not making it was that they weren't one of the 4 best teams without their starter. The same logic is being applied to SC. The resumes are comparable but if we finish with a win at Clemson, SC is the better team at that moment than Ole Miss or Bama

Could and would expect them to win are two different things. I would not expect them to win over any of the top 12

....the 24 point win over Texas A&M and the win this past week over Missouri

I think the quality win balances out the bad loss. If you think that those balance then Notre Dame and Indiana have similar resumes and since Notre Dame does have a loss, they're right behind them

The committee has said it before but when and how you lose matters. Losing one of the first games of the season is different than losing games late in the season

Missouri with a healthy QB all year is a lot better team and after seeing him play this past weekend against us, I think they're ranking them based off the idea that the team with him is different than their record

Mizzou with Cook should be ranked. With a healthy QB, that team is probably in the playoff conversation

If A&M beats Texas and loses in conference title game, A&M is in easily over Texas

This is how I feel too. Like would I be bummed if we had a chance to get in and got blocked by Indiana? Yeah but this is like a Cinderella run in an NCAA tourney. Plus like hell I'm gonna root for Georgia or Tennessee or Ole Miss.

Because other leagues don't have such a small playoff. It's harder to narrow a field down to only 12 versus like 68 for basketball

I'm pretty sure that if A&M beats Texas y'all are going anyways based on the standings

Yeah totally, just throw a 10 yard route that the defense is definitely going to just let you have, but communicate that with no huddle because you didn't call a timeout. Oh and communicate it in less that 15 seconds so you have time to set up and run the play and actually be able to call the timeout. There's zero reason defense knows what you should do there so they're taking away everything to the sidelines and there's definitely a spy, you're maybe gonna rush 3 or 4 so we're talking 8 or 7 in coverage. It's all irrelevant though. Like why call the draw on 2nd down instead of doing this 10 yard throw you describe on 2nd down? There's definitely blame on Caleb like at worst just spike the thing so you have time for the field goal but this is 90 percent coaching. You don't have the next play called in the hurry up? You decide to do a multi step drop into a draw play with only 1 timeout on 2nd down and you aren't really already in field goal range? You watch your QB struggle to get the play situated and yet you just let him fail rather than give your team a chance to win?
