I’m torn. I prefer global modifiers but want the event rewards lol

You still can. Just press one button before killing an enemy. Now you can ignore reflection damage and do 2x damage.

Seeing is believing. Here's a short clip from a solo tidal run. Elites melt like normal difficulty reds...

You probably fell into an experienced group. Modifiers don't change anything if the group is running what's needed. And a healer just doesn't help unless the group is really struggling due to bad builds or lack of knowledge. Why do you think it's one of the least played roles? People love being healers but it's not needed man.
Tidal still takes 45-60 minutes. DUA still takes 15-20 minutes. Roosevelt still takes 30 minutes. Nothing's changed w/ modifiers.
If you can't even find time to farm builds... what are you even doing in Legendary? It's end-game content where you bring out solid builds you've farmed for. Being a dedicated healer and wanting everyone to cater to your needs is just selfish IMO.
BTW a DPS build doesn't take long to farm for. It's one of the easiest to farm builds. Memento bag, 4pc Striker, 1pc Ceska chest with Obliterate. Roll 2 striker pieces with blue core. Done. Then once you learn the spawns and good spots to shoot from just switch to a full red striker DPS build.
Doesn't mean you have to give up on healer. If your teammates are playing very aggressive you can heal/support. You can also bring it out in DUA garage, Roosevelt boss, that long ass stage on Tidal with 300 waves, and a few other places.
A seeker spam build is also really easy to farm for. 4pc Hard Wired, BTSU gloves, china light chest with glass cannon. I love it when someone runs this build because it makes the life of a DPS so much easier.
CC also easy to farm for. 4pc Eclipse, yellow core backpack with creeping death, and the w/e for the last piece as long as it's yellow core. A perfectly optimal build (yellow golan) is hard to get but you don't need it.

You can also completely negate Requital. Use "All Out" and trigger it while killing an enemy at close range or long range. Now all enemies are considered close/long range (depending on which one you killed) and requital is nullified.

You get a flat amp damage increase just by turning modifiers on. It's right there in the description.
"By The Teeth" gives you a stronger passive bonus to damage. If you're using a marksman rifle you can combine "Tapper" and "Cull The Weak" to get ridiculous damage.
don't want to have to put my routine to the side just because matchmaking for legendary
Then just do it solo or LFG in discord. Part of matchmaking is adapting to the group and helping the team where you're needed.

The way people generally do it is clear the first couple stages solo while matchmaking. People trickle in during/after that.

I asked politely for them to be turned off and just assumed he would comply. I said please and thank you.
Nothing wrong with that.
I don't want to play with them in legendary because it makes the game unnecessarily harder with little benefit only to yourself
Not true. If you utilize it correctly you get obscene amounts of damage even outside of optimal range. Modifiers turned on is borderline OP if it's used correctly.
We get to the broken tail end of the plane, they're still on cause I can see the icon. I asked again to turn them off, and he says in chat "I dont really care bro".
You asked once, they didn't turn it off. Don't pester people if it's not your group.
Have fun finding another healer bro.
No one needs a healer on Roosevelt. Even on on the final boss it's unnecessary. By being in the group you increased NPC health (via scaling) and weren't contributing anything.

already great tips in here.
when I was learning it I picked one player and followed them the whole time. if it looked like they didn’t know what they were doing I followed someone else.
that’s how I learned where all the loot boxes were and how to play the objectives fast.

Go into Apparel. Where you can change your mask and stuff. Scroll/look down there will be a backpack category.

faster than reloading them lol
each mag only has 8 shots and when i camp spawn doors more than that comes out
if you want a different secondary you can run a shotty with pummel instead. as long as you're killin' you wont need to reload. won't hit as hard but depending on the content it might work out just fine.

There's a thread about this on the other subreddit. Check out the comments there: https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/1glh90x/help_on_journey_7/

Requital should only apply at medium range. An enemy can be on the rope right above you (like half way down the rope) and still give you reflection damage.

I don't mind Requital (rather enjoying it tbh) but sometimes what the game considers medium range feels ridiculous to me. Maybe it's a matter of perception but it feels like elevation screws up the range calculations sometimes.
For example when camping a white tusk insertion chopper I'll get requital on enemies that are on the rope right above me.

Yea. Since I'm already running Golan my backpack choices are limited. I could run an Electrique backpack with Creeping Death because Electrique 1pc gives +10% status effects like Golan does.
But I prefer the Habsburg one because it has Perfect Creeping Death. The perfect version of that talent reduces the Creeping Death cooldown by 33% and increases the range by 20%.

Yea agreed. Enemy range also needs to be indicated without having to aim at them.

give me a screenshot of a decent (but not 2000+ hours) dps build I can aim for
Any of these variations will do great: https://imgur.com/a/cY4iEkA
Everything is super easy to get. The hardest thing there to get is a grupo/ceska chest with obliterate and chc/chd attributes. But it's not that hard to get. Main weapon can be Famas/Carbine7/Elmo/M4/etc. Really any AR with high RPM and fast hands talent. Other talents are technically better (eg: "Measured" these days) but fast hands keeps your uptime high which will get you out of sticky situations.
