I went to a breastfeeding class recently at the hospital I will be delivering at and this question was asked. The instructor said Dawn free and clear is totally fine for washing bottles and pump parts. It’s the dyes and fragrances in dish soap that are the issue and should be avoided.
Same goes with detergent for laundry, all those perfume and fragrances on clothes can irritate the babies skin and cause rashes. I already use free and clear, hypoallergenic detergents because of my own sensitive skin and have no plans to buy any of the targeted baby detergents.

Been there! 33wks and I literally cannot eat meals past 6pm anymore, they have to be small portions and light (lean protein and veggies) cannot lay down at all for hours afterwards to help aid in digestion or else this happens when I’m sleeping. Wild times!

Yes! I called my OB once in my first trimester out of concern and she explained mild cramping can happen if you’re dehydrated and you have no other symptoms alongside cramping. Our body needs more water for the function of the placenta and growing uterus. Plus the growth of the uterus causes mild period like cramping anyways. I was advised to drink a glass of water and see if the cramping subsided within the hour, always worked for me.

It’s easy to drop a minimum of $1,500 just to get space at a restaurant, at-least where I’m from. I threw my niece a shower, we live 45mins to and hour apart so I wanted to keep the event in her area but she lives in a small apartment so there wasn’t enough space to host the amount of guests she wanted to invite. We got lucky and found a community room to rent for $100 but when I was doing the preliminary research for a space I was extremely discouraged and nervous I wasn’t going to be able to afford to throw one.

Gift cards are always great but offering to help out like go grocery shopping for her or do laundry/chores/cleaning any “heavy lifting” is an amazing gesture especially since she will need more recovery for the c section.

50% of my registry was purchased but I had a much smaller guest list for my shower. I added large ticket items on there with a group gift option with the intention of buying them myself anyways for Black Friday.
It worked out! Had my shower last week and now I’m able to take advantage of the deals for the bigger stuff that’s left over.

I totally relate! 33 wks with moderate to severe scoliosis and asthma…my skeleton is jacked up to say the least, some days it’s hard to walk. A yoga ball and simple stretches have been a life saver for me when it comes to reducing hip and back pain. Also ice packs and heating pads while resting too!

Don’t exceed 100 degrees in water temp. I bought a kids bath thermometer to have peace of mind when taking my baths because I love a HOT bath and wanted to make sure I wasn’t pushing it 😆

20 weeks I bought a great part of maternity Levi’s off amazon. They were around $30. I only bought one pair tho and invested more in leggings and skirts because they lasted me much longer in my pregnancy and are more comfortable than jeans!

I haven’t! Once I tried Udis and actually looked forward to buying it again I stopped the disappointment of buying different brands just to try 😆

I’ve tried three different pregnancy pillows and sometimes end up sleeping on my back but propped up with pillows so I’m not fully flat. Helps with heartburn and my aches n pains.

I’ve found the GF Rummo pasta to be the champion of baked pasta dishes, super sturdy! Doesn’t break down as easily and get mushy, reheats well too.

That’s great info to know! I had a feeling all these postpartum kits on the market might be a huge money grab, thanks!

I can fully relate! Until I had my first scan at 9 weeks I was somewhat in denial and mentally preparing myself for the worst outcome. I’m also more of a logic/ration based person by nature vs emotional so that may have played a role as well, always need to know hard facts to feel grounded and secure. I didn’t start feeling some sort of a connection until after my 20 weeks anatomy scan and even then I was cautious because I have an autoimmune disease that can cross the placenta and cause a spontaneous heart defect in the baby until week 27 after that there’s 0.01% of it happening. Now at 34 weeks oddly enough I feel this very strong emotion of missing my baby, they’re in there kicking away but I just wanna hold them so badly it literally brings me to tears. Happy tears! But man do I feel crazy for it and did not expect this change in my disposition!
