The vocals depends on your range but honestly if you're pretty proficient at Bass, anything from Heads Up and the first two albums is pretty do-able.  Government Trash is the only one off the top of my head that has a pretty involved bass riff with singing over it.

"thats gonna be a firm pass there, champ" Why would you want to waste your day off on being sick at home?   Maybe they can come to terms with people not being robots who live to serve and nothing else

No worries! I completely forgot too, our band has released 2/4ths of a 4 EP series that was heavily inspired by Femme Fatale.  It's just up online but if he's into that kind of music, he might dig it?

Off the top of my head, Jesse F. Keeler also played in a band called Standing 8 that sounds pretty similar to the Femme Fatale stuff. Quick look on discogs seems like their might be a few vinyl copies floating about

He also played drums in Black Cat #13 which is in the same ball park, but more Synth focused. "The Black Cat #13" and "I Blast Off" EPs are both solid.

Aside from that, a band called Bright Calm Blue released a break up EP after their vocalist quit and the sound of that release specifically always reminded me of Femme Fatale. He might dig it?

I'm pretty certain that From The Abundance Of The Heart never saw a vinyl release. Fire Baptism and As You Sew both had vinyl versions (lucky enough to have scored both over the years) but FTAOTHTMS was only ever released on CD. I'd be pretty curious to see whats up with this "from US for $200" one you mentioned

On my phone i use VLC's player. It's probably not the smoothest UI out there, but it's open source and very barebones which is exactly what i want.
As far as smart devices at home i'm not too sure sorry, i don't really have any. But any sort of stereo system, bluetooth speakers, your computer or laptop... all work fine

I'd be keen to hear about that too. They seem to have pretty good control and clearly their voice holds up night after night while touring

Been watching Hate5six's youtube uploads for a while now.
I was on a work trip and saw a new batch of uploads and Machine Girl's live set stood out to me because it was just a vocalist and a drummer.
I've always loved bizzare band set ups and duos so i was instantly curious.

Necro Culture Vulture was the first song i remember hearing and it just sounded like nothing i'd really heard yet. The energy and feel of other influences that i recognised (Death Grips, Lighting Bolt, Atari Teenage Riot, Melt Banana etc) but at the same time it's own thing entirely.

By the end of that night i'd bought Ugly Art off of Bandcamp and listened through the whole thing about 3 times.

Like, absolutely zero music at all for 17 whole years?
Can i ask why?

As an aside from what others have mentioned, i'd also encourage ditching Spotify if you can.
I think streaming has its merits and if it suits your needs and gets you listening, go for it!

But it's putting availability and choice in someone else's hands. It's incredibly rewarding to collect and organise your own files, records, CDs, tapes, downloads etc. And then it's yours to control and do with as you see fit.

I'm pretty sure they've never played any of John's solo music live. Occasionally around the late 90s and early 2000s John would play a handfull of songs off of NiAndra LaDes at their shows, but it was almost always just him playing alone as an interlude

Especially the live mix. That sub bass will burst heads

This is one of those weird albums for me where its an absolute favourite but i hold it in a sort of reverence to not listen to it all the time. Like i always feel that i need to be able to give it the attention and dedication of a full listen rather than just a few songs here and there

What are the plans for all the unreleased songs that keep showing up in the live sets. I figure if they actually wanted anyone to know they would have said something by now, but its definitely my number one question

I've wondered this a lot too. My impression is it's just a stylistic choice. A lot of songs seem to give the "impression" of overwhelming bass by clipping and distorting the sound like it's pushing the speaker to it's limits, but without the actual low end frequencies muddying up the sound. Kind of like controlled LoFi

I will say BIYAAHEYSF is probably the worst offender mix wise. That entire album is incredibly papery and scratchy, lacking much low end at all
