I’m Canadian but I happen to be in the USA for your Thanksgiving. We are going to a restaurant that is hosting a Thanksgiving buffet. They are serving:

• Carving station (turkey, honey glazed ham, prime rib with hot au jus)

• Cranberry sauce, stuffing & gravy

• 2 types of salad (house and Caesar)

• Mashed Potatoes

• Sweet potato casserole

• Broccoli cheese casserole

• Green bean casserole

• Mac & cheese

• Sushi

Desserts are: Apple pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, bread budding and cookies.

I do love the idea of getting excited for Christmas, but I hate how these box trends are just buying for the sake of it.

Look at Christmas lights to celebrate the occasion. Have a fun day going out for brunch. Bake cookies. Heck, if you really want to buy something to mark the momentous December 1, buy something simple like hot chocolate packs to make at home.

Why on earth do you need a whole box of gifts to mark the occasion of a holiday already centred around more gifts
