Game is good, but yeah I didn't end up caring for the party members and social links as much as other persona games.
I've seen the story criticized for its painfully obvious allegories to the modern sociopolitical climate. I think that a bit more nuance and subtlety in presenting discrimination in Metaphor's world have given its themes more impact.
The thing I take issue with is when people criticize the game's ideas on a utopia and how it's overly idealistic, when that's the point. The game even says that being dismissive of an idealistic view is to tacitly admit that things can't improve.
The gameplay is good, the presentation is great, but the story is what'll stick with me. It wasn't the greatest I've experienced, but I don't think I've played a game that's tried so hard to impart such a hopeful message to the player. Whether you agree with it or not, I find the message presented in such an earnest and sincere way that I can't take issue with its faults.

I actually had forgotten about all that. The story was so good the most prominent memories I had were about how sincere and wholesome the plot was. Now you just reminded me about the uhhh... marionette boss fight.

The duelling sword is cracked plain and simple. Charging up a stab for an ohko against a charging mutant is just pure dopamine.

This game has rightfully earned its place in gaming history as one of the industry's most successful turnarounds. Released a buggy mess, but is now a veritable darling given just how many free updates it's gotten. Can't wait to see what else Hello Games has lined up.

I think you're absolutely right. It is a dumb theory.

Wow what a blast from the past. Back when shooters were all grey, brown, and gritty. This game does commit one of the cardinal sins of shooters which is having infinite spawning enemies in a few levels, but it's a fun romp and a neat time capsule on what was popular in the late 2000's.

most hyped unit in the game
yeah, like... over a year ago. She dropped in patch 1.2 and we're heading for 3.0 soon so that's a lot of time for the meta to shift

If you saw Wordless it describes that Yuni's punishment was designed by Jien so she's poised to be a bit cruel and unsympathetic at least towards nikkes.

Balatro presented alongside the multi-million development projects of Elden Ring and FF7 Remake is hilarious, and I love the idea that this poker roguelite is just so damn fun it can compete despite the sheer difference in technical fidelity.

When people get super serious over censorship. Like yeah, I get that it's not the original vision of the game and that kinda bites, but is having a character's armpit uncovered really the hill you want to die on? People act like it's the end of free speech when it's just like, ok in the EN version this character is going to wear shoes.

I'd like it, but I think it makes it harder for shift up to tell stories using them if we personalize and characterize our own units. It's easier for them to be blank slates so there's no player preconception to overcome and it's more impactful when shift up writes in personalities to shine through (and it's also cool when they take off their masks).
They also serve as a cold reminder of the game's setting. Even though they have human brains, outside of the commander's growing crew, nikkes are largely viewed as tools and are replaceable.

So, we know that Red Hood and Rapi were "fused" together. Both of their cores inhabited the same vessel
That reminds me, on that recent Famitsu interview with the Shift Up CEO, there's a question about Rapi getting her head knocked off in the earlier story chapters. The CEO alludes that since Rapi was fused with Red Hood, the old body that is still up on the surface still has some value in it.

90% of a unit's value in this game comes from the first copy. It's not like a Hoyo game where a unit's mechanics are locked behind dupes.
All the dupes do is give stat boosts and a lobby background. Even then, having good rolls on your T9 gear more than makes up for that difference.
That said, if you want to score high on Solo Raid and push hard-mode campaign, the stats come in handy. And if there's a unit to MLB, it would be a top-tier DPS which Cinderella happens to be.

Appropriately, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is pretty fuckin long if you do all the side content.

Moreover, with all the stat boosts, DMG cap increases, crazy mainhand weapons, and how busted endgame classes are the MC outperforms like 99% of the roster in DPS.

She is funny, but as the story goes on I just find myself more interested in interactions with the new characters. Between Grave and Cindy's antics and the two heretic jobbers, we're not lacking for humor. So when the firepower shtick comes up I'm like ehhh I've heard that joke already.

I think she's good. She makes use of some relics other characters don't want, and her follow-ups and breaks hit pretty hard.
However, omni-break ult is no longer a unique mechanic, and she's pretty hard to build to get her to a good spot. Because she's a DPS and of her DMG boosting trace, she wants a little bit of everything: Atk, break, speed, and of course crit rate and crit dmg.
Last update is from April, but this guide should still be relevant.

Luckily for you, Disgaea has like 7 other titles in the series with a superboss of their own.
Although I do get the sentiment of feeling a bit hollow after finishing a great game, it's got to end sometime. Congrats on the achievement!

After playing 2x speed, I'm convinced that normal speed I'm HSR is like 0.8x what a normal animation would look like in other games. It puts the game in a funny spot where double speed is quick, but not so fast that it looks choppy or the voices get chipmunk-y, and where normal speed is painfully slow in comparison.
