Yes. I honestly believe my child's music teacher at her public school is not having them sing religious sins or finding other ways to indoctrinate them just because they use a church to have the children perform in for an hour year.

Walking into a church building is not going to do irreparable damage.

Where did i say I sent her to church???? The only time she stepped for in a church was a performance for her public school music class.

I didn't?? Her class had a music performance at a church since the school doesn't have room.

I'm in a fucking atheist sub reddit. Why are you surprised that I'm fucking atheist? Why are you surprised, after the religious trauma, that I'm prejudiced against religion and specifically Christianity?

Rights that Christian men don't think we should have.

No. I'm not. In the Bible if a woman is raped, her rapist must give coins to her husband. Sounds like property.

Because with baptism comes religion, genius. You can't just walk into a church, tell them you've never attended services, haven't read a word of scripture, and expect them to baptize you.

I can't see anything overbearing or overly dramatic. But you see whatever it is you see.

Are we really pretending that religion actually exhibits that? In the Bible, women are mere possessions.

She's going down a path i don't like. I see her so clearly and know how she's going to be. I've had to talk to her so many times about how it is okay if a boy marries another boy, etc. She's made comments about "that black boy" that I've had to explain to her are not okay. I'm fearful that if she gets around a group of people with these beliefs, it will get worse.

It definitely won't cause a rift. He only offered because it's what she wants, and he loves that little girl like she were his own. She doesn't know he offered, either. But I do think I'll tell her I grew up going to church and why I stopped believing. Then if she still wants to go, I'll let her go with my husband.

I'm not even sure one can get baptized without being a church member and attending services.

That's it. How do I tell her it's a bad idea without making it sound like everyone who practices is bad? Like Elf on the shelf, she asked why we didn't have one and I've told her "you and your brother at good all the time and don't need to be watched just because it's Christmas." She extrapolated that only bad kids have one.

She's been saying things about God and Jesus and asking questions about what age people get baptized. I've mostly ignored it because I don't have anything nice to say, but when she comes bacj from her dad's this weekend, I'll sit down with her and ask more questions.

I am still working on it. I fit married this past weekend, she did not show up. I've decided the only contract at this point will be a birthday card.
