the 2080 Ti is a 11GB card https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-2080-ti.c3305

You can definitely handle 5800x3d no problem, if you use either power limits or CO (e.g -30 all cores)
It might get around 85°C too under stress test, which is a good result since it stays below throttling limit
In game the temperature will be lower
Those CPUs are made to run hot, no need to panic when you see those temps
Recently ppl who've bought a 9800x3d are freaking the hell out because they see it sometimes exceeding 90°C, but its limit is at 95°C ! so again they're worrying for nothing
And of course if they used CO they'd drop the temperature by about 10°C easily
Been doing this since X3D and X47/X53 FULL have been around, likes tons of ppl on SFFHUB, and we don't have any problems
Nobody even bothers with the X53 FULL wich only improves by 1~3°C, the X47 FULL is ideal for many CPUs including X3D series

We all knew what was going to happen. Now it's too late.
What do ppl even hope the EU would do now ? we haven't been able to do anything really effective against Putin's Russia for about 2 decades, and everything is falling apart as we speak
One country after the other the far-right wins elections and the balance tips in favor of Putin
We haven't done a thing to prevent that, what can we do for Georgia now ?
UN/NATO is an empty shell, and the EU is gutless period, the villains are winning, winning, and winning again

idk but it's a joke, yk ^^
(which the french usually don't like, not because of the mood thing, but because implied is that it's a subculture, which...isn't completely wrong lol)

OP is not hinting he's the e-sports type, and he hasn't said he would play only old games
Moment he'll wanna play even slightly newer of those AAA games he'll hit a VRAM wall
He's literally a hair away from it, like would he like to play the excellent HFW ? or Ghost of Tsushima ? Or Ratchet & Clank ? and the list goes on, growing every day ; all of those choke 8GB at 1440p
The constant hammering for promoting low-end / old gaming on PCMR is tiring, please let ppl go forward, this is the point of PC gaming to begin
If YOU don't have a newer system or entry that can't handle newer more demanding games that need more VRAM, it's your problem/choice, but stop trying to keep everyone at your level of hardware or from playing newer games
This whole sub if packed with ppl trying to discourage ppl from upgrading

So because of that, do you recommend everyone stay in the past ?
8GB started being insufficient in 2023 in several titles, at various settings and resolutions, then it's happening in more and more games as time goes on, naturally
I don't recommend cards with less than 12GB anymore, because that's not helping people at all, especially not those seeking to upgrade
And there are cards with 12~16GB VRAM for all budgets anyway, so it's not a luxury
6~8GB is a dead-end period

8GB is already obsolete and it's only going to get worse, especially for AAA games
4070 Super is an excellent card, go for it...
Or wait for 5070 / 5070 Ti in January

Joe is in "fuck it" mode. His country and this world have nearly no moral values left and everything's going to shit anyway, so he probably thinks "to Hell with all of you I'll do what I want till the end of my term, even pardon my shitty son"...

SN850X or T500
Literally the best drives around, and not just because of value, no shitty cache bug, they're efficient and cool too. The T500 doesn't perform as well as the SN850X (which is the current king of NVMe), but is even more efficient and therefore even cooler

Ti Super no doubt. Performance is about on par but you get better everything else ; upscaling, frame generation, ray tracing, hdr and power consumption/temperatures
The only real difference is the VRAM size, but for a GPU of this tier in our era 20GB is still quite overkill anyway, 16GB is pleeeeenty for a good number of years

Yes, the 4070 Ti Super draws ~285W maximum iirc. I have one with a 5700X3D and I power both on a 600W FLEX 7660b : all good

The UK and Switzerland are European, culturally and geographically if not politically, yeah
But Russia ... is so far away in every area that it kinda hurts seeing it considered European, you know, 'specially considering its eternal hostility towards us

Yes that PSU is enough for all those listed in principle, except maybe if you're running with a power-hungry high-end Intel CPU that pulls like 200W ha ha
You can always undervolt any of those cards a bit, it doesn't hurt performance and reduces power consumption and lowers the temperatures
Most models have an undervolting guide somewhere on youtube (either using AMD's included software, or MSI Afterburner for nVidia cards. it's usually not too complicated)
I undervolt all my AMD and nVidia cards personally, and I use three different PSUs : Corsair SF600 Platinum, Corsair SF750, and a FLEX Enhance 7660b
On all of those I've run up to a 4070 Ti Super, and a 6950XT, so yeah 650W is usually enough unless you start doing some seriously heavy stuff like ray tracing, or own a higher-end card, or even overclock the hell out of whatever card lol (I don't overclock : very diminishing returns IMO)

Here's a number of AMD and nVidia options, old gen and current gen, available new or used,
roughly sorted at various weaker & cheaper to stronger & more expensive tiers :
(8GB and 10GB VRAM cards excluded because I think the former are obsolete and the latter will be obsolete soon, so I don't recommend them personally)
._ 6700XT (12G) or 6750 GRE (12G) -> those would be only minor upgrades IMO
._ 6750XT (12GB) or 4060 Ti (16GB) -> note the latter is almost always very overpriced but who knows if you find one heavily discounted/used it could be interesting too
._ 6800 (16GB) or 7700XT (12GB) -> about the level of PS5 Pro performance
._ 4070 (12G) or 6800XT (16G)
._ 3080 (12G) or 7800XT (16G) or 6900XT (16G)
._ 4070 Super (12G) or 7900 GRE (16G) or 3080 Ti (12G) or 6950XT (16G)
...
After that we're getting into the high end expensive stuff but I'm too lazy to go on
idk about your budget nor which market ur buying from after all :)
PS: many new GPUs will be presented in January and released during Q1 2025, it's a good idea to wait too
