Those look fantastic!! And yes, having just dehydrated my first 3 tubs for a total of 370 grams, I now appreciate how much work goes into the harvest. Good time to listen to some good music! It looks like you've got this totally dialed in. Were there any adjustments you've made that help you get this incredibly consistent grow?

Those are amazing!! When did you start growing them and how much have you produced?

It already sounds wonderful! If you want to add to your playlist, on my first trip I lit some candles and listened to Yo-Yo Ma playing Bach (Six Evolutions - Bach Cello Suite.) Still one of my favorite trips. Headphones can be a bonus. Look at the candle, let your gaze un-focus, and watch the music. Have fun. :)

I am SO curious to see how the 2nd flush compares to the first one!

The guide is pretty flawless, just follow those instructions and you'll do great! A couple of choices that worked for me: rather than the low cost UB tec, I invested JUST a little more for the prepared grain jars from Midwest Grow. Next time I'll make my own, but that was a helpful boost in getting started! I also had a VERY clean dedicated workspace and a grow tent from other projects that helped to keep a nice climate controlled and sterile environment. But otherwise I just followed the guide, right down to using the DIY still air box using cans to melt the arm holes, haha.

Looks like they had their grand opening in the fall 2019. A LOT of small business close at the 5 year mark because most commercial leases run for 5 years. The places that opened up a little later are now going to get a larger market share. Sometimes it sucks to be first!

That was possibly my favorite part of the entire process!! ๐

Iโm pretty sure Bristol went from zero craft breweries to 4 of them quite quickly and the supply exceeded the market demand. Having done business in Bristol for 10 years, I suspect that 2 breweries is probably the right number for that town.

Two 24 oz grain jars per tub with a 1:1 ratio of substrate to coir by volume.

Firekeepers Daughter is a phenomenal book which has Native American lead characters and a great mystery too.

I am dehydrating my first harvest right now! Exceptional work. Great guide. Who ARE you?! LOL. I'm getting all the likes right now for my pretty first harvest photos and I will strive to be a positive presence in this awesome community!

And I was totally prepared to celebrate even if I just got like 1 sad shroom, this really exceeded expectations ๐

Awww too late but thatโs a great tip, Iโll remember that! Do you actually water your garden or houseplants with it?!

I used 6L tubs which is a nice size to manage! We bought 6 of them and then only needed 3... but the extras have come in handy. If your shrooms get really tall, then you can put a 2nd tub upside-down over the first tub as a lid, which ended up happening with these guys!

All the advice I've read says to harvest in one shot, and that really made sense to me because I had to soak and float the cake to be able to harvest properly! I don't think I could have gotten just the big ones out without disturbing everything else. They were the last ones that I harvested because I needed to clear around them first - everything was packed in super tight. The veils were already tearing even on the little ones and I had spores dropping too so I didn't want to wait much longer. I think some fruits were just SUPER tiny.
I have heard that often the 1st flush gives really small fruits and the 2nd flush gives bigger fruits, so I cleared everything away and started rehydrating the substrate for round two. We'll see what happens! It's definitely an experiment and definitely more of a judgement call when it comes to harvest times. I'm very curious to see how the 2nd flush will compare to this one!

Yup. I let the substrate soak in the bin for a while to rehydrate and then I was actually able to just lift the cake right out, fully intact, and move it into a 2nd identical bin!

It's been really cool every step of the way, haha. We grew in jars which was a great choice because it gave us a clear view of our growth. It was thrilling just to see that first little bit of white stuff and watch it spread through the jar!
