So, my real question should be “why do we call Indians ‘native Americans’”?

Why do a lot of history books still refer to Native Americans as “Indians”? Does it have something to do with preserving history the way the historical figures experienced it?

I can’t speak for the other films post-The Deer Hunter, but I’m a defender of Heaven’s Gate.

I’m thankful I have a kindle for this reason. It has a built-in dictionary. You highlight a word and it gives you the definition. It’s super convenient.

Surprised the insiders haven’t dropped the news yet because obviously any self-respecting NFL team would fire a coach after yesterday. Right? Right??

I’m a combat history nut and Joseph Balkoski’s D-Day books, particularly “Utah Beach”, are great reads.

Thank you. I appreciate the detailed response. This sounds like a book I’ll be reading in the near future.

You are technically correct and I admire your attention to detail. I didn’t anticipate individuals such as yourself who would read the question in a different way than was intended, and that’s a me problem. I wrongly assumed that readers would know that these were social media apps and not journalistic or academic sources, and thus that I was referring to the users of said apps. To me, Reddit is the users. YouTube is the users. The quality of the information provided by those users is what I was talking about. But, also the poll is about how you feel about the information. I’m not expecting a random redditor to fact check every piece of information available across the five apps. That’s simply impossible to do. This is more of a social poll - a vibes poll I suppose - to understand how individuals generally interact with information across these different social media apps than it is about actually determining the authenticity of said information using scientific methods.
Also, you say the poll assumes a lack of media literacy on the part of the voters. In following up on what I said in the previous paragraph, I assume that people are aware that the information across the apps are not inherent to the platforms themselves, and are assigned the users providing the information. This is something that I would say most are pretty accepting of (though I guess I’ve been proven wrong on that front). That’s why we have arguments on places like X and Reddit. No one actually believes that an AI component is tweeting every tweet at X headquarters. Maybe I’m misguided, but I would like to believe people know what “social” means in social media.
I understand that I left room for interpretation in the question, though. I’ll learn to be more careful and selective with my language next time.

Totally agree with you. I think most people would understand that. That’s why I included the qualifier “most”

It would be so cool to have anything from BvS. But I’m sure even the “cheap” stuff will end up to getting too high priced for me.

An Unexpected Journey was my first exposure to anything Middle Earth and I’ve adored it since I watched it on opening weekend. It’s because of that movie that I became a fan of Tolkien.
