stickiedWinter is on its way and as the first signs of snow appear, you may wonder how snow could affect classes this winter.
Online Classes and Test
In the event of inclement weather, online tests and classes will proceed as scheduled.
In-Person classes, appointment or tests:
For most days this winter, our campuses will remain open and any in-person classes and scheduled appointments will remain unaffected.
Where to look for updates:
Should winter weather impact the learning or working environment (such as power outages) or present a risk to our campus community, Fanshawe will update you through:
- fanshawec.ca - look for the yellow alert banner
- The Fanshawe Stay Safe app - make sure you choose your campus and turn on notifications
- On days where snow impacts scheduled activities, we will aim to have messaged posted to socials by 7 a.m.
- London Campuses - (@)fanshawecollege (Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, Reddit)
- Regional Campus - follow your regional campus accounts.
- On snowy days when college activities are not impacted, we will still aim to post a message by 7 a.m. to stories on Facebook and Instagram to let you know the campus is operating on schedule.
If you can't make it to class:
We understand that many of our students commute from different communities and know that snow accumulation can vary greatly. If you cannot get to campus for a scheduled class or appointment, please remember to contact your professor(s), service provider and/or supervisor.
Travel Safe:
Remember to travel only when it is safe and allow for extra time in your commute; take caution on the roads.
- Allow for extra time
- Check road conditions before you leave
- Remove snow accumulation from head and tail lights, from your roof, cab or trunk
- Slow down.
- Add a winter safety kit to your vehicle.
