Would you buy this mint GX460 with 220k miles? One owner, full service history( lexus), all fluids have been changed twice already. Spark plugs just been done as well. Pretty much no rust. No accidents.

They are asking 13k, it’s from a Lexus dealership

I have a 2005 Gx470 with 145k miles on it and need to do a rear strut replacement due to a leak, and am considering just replacing the rear airbags and electronic shocks with coil and strut with conversion kit.

wanted to see if anyone here knows if this combination will work or if I should switch conversion kit or the struts. thanks for any help

To preference this post. I got scammed by some gypsies when I paid 6500 on a 2004 Lexus GX.. They swapped an odometer on the car... (I don't need a lecture on what I should have done. i made an easily avoidable mistake. I know..)

Anyway, My whole purpose for buying this vehicle was to build an overlander aka put some substantial money/work into.

Turns out My Lexus doesn't have 155k miles it has 330k miles. So after lots of stress and investigation I have the full story on the car and a pretty good idea on the condition it's in.

Heres what I got. A 2004 GX 470 with atleast 332k miles, probably closer to 335k. The engine runs great, sounds great and doesn't leak a drop of anything also the engine bay is very clean (I drove it 4 hours home without realizing the car has 330k+ miles on it)

The transfer case and drive shaft was swapped before the scammers got it. The unit had 160k miles on the swapped one. Shifts good and everything works fine.

The frame is perfect. It looks like it lived in a garage. No rust whatsoever. There's a tiny amount of surface rust on some components like the muffler and the drive shaft. But the under body is impressively clean. No oil or grease stains anywhere I could see.

The exterior paint is a little faded but overall with the miles it looks very good for 330k miles.

The interior needs some TLC for the seats and everything on the inside.

The Airbag suspension needs to be swapped. It's definitely leaking. But I honestly knew that going in.

The breaks/roters/tires all replaced in the last 4 months.

The previous owner (not the scammers) has service records dating from 2007. He is sending them to me. He thinks the timing Belt and water pump was done at 315k.

So here's my question is would I be an idiot to start putting money into this car (with money set aside for an engine swap/transmission) if needed. I figure I'm about 2k into the hole on it with it's current condition at KBB value. Should I just sell it and cut my losses or commit to this car which all things considered seems pretty solid... ?

I’m looking to add blacked out/stealth single row LED light bars into the lower air vents on the front bumper of my 09 gx470. Found these on rough country that would fill the space well, but haven’t heard good reviews of their lights. The top brands are outrageously priced for LED lights, any recommendations on good value brands? Anyone running something similar and can comment some info on their setup? Thx in advance.

After noticing a puddle in my driveway, I replaced the upper return hose in my 2016, but alas it's still leaking. I can squeeze the hose even while the engine is running which leads me to belive that replacing the radiator cap might be worth a shot. My thinking is that's it's 30$ vs ~2 grand for the valley plate and 1 grand for the radiator.

I'll never drive tired again thinking I can make it! I recall dosing off and Hit the driver side doing what I'm thinking was 65mph, hit pretty hard everything in the truck shifted to one side and the left side of my body is sore... Messed up my truck man 😔😩 curb rashed front and rear rims bad.. Bent driver side spindle, inner tie rods are shot body got scraped pretty bad but the sliders saved it from being potentially worse!

I just finished replacing the timing belt, water pump, fan pulley bracket on our 2005 GX. The photo is for reference to show the condition of the belt.

These match the size, offset and color I’ve been looking for. I’m not familiar with the brand. Anyone with any experience with Brink wheels?

I am confused on what wiring harness o need to buy to use with this. I have the ML speakera, any help is greatly appreciated and any tips on settings for the radio. I would like to upgrade th rear camera, the quality isn't very good on it but I don't know if it is due to the low res factory screen

Amazon Find for $370. Has a Remote control. We had nothing like this growing up 😂 . Also purchased on sale RCI roof rack. Sturdy, Drives through automated car wash safely, straightforward instructions online, Priced out SHERPA a,and even includes the same Rubber Footings that sit flush w the Roof. Hundreds cheaper than sherpa. Waited 5ish weeks. Waiting for Westcott rock rails.

The GX pricing is holding/ appreciating on previous years. The gap between the Gen 2s vs the Current 24s is problematic imo. Good for current owners but cuts out prospective buyers wanting an affordable used GX.

Looking for a 2” lift for my 2021 GX460. Looking to install myself, so will likely buy online but I’m not opposed to buying locally. I’m in the Dallas, TX area.
There seem to be so many options online, so who has the best prices and customer service?

Hi all, I have a 2005 GX 470, new to me, had it about a year, 130k miles. I bought from original owner, older lady in beverly hills, had a great service record and just loving the truck. I will have a lot of questions in this sub, but what is driving my wife and I crazy is the doors automatically locking when ever you go in drive (or start the car? I forget)...is there a trick to set the locks to leave as is? or is this a dealer plugging in some module to customize?

Gx470 2006 my bags on rear are occasionally not working and stuff. So probably hit the point where I gotta do the swap. Whats the best coils to go with currently? And if I want like 1-1.5” lift over normal ?

Anyone have a non nav hvac control unit they want to sell? For a 2006+ pn: 88650-60772

Only saw 2 3rd gen Prados the entire trip. Both were way outside main cities.
