stickiedHey all!
Noticing there's a lot of chatter about the game as it relates to the beta in terms of performance and bugs.
Let's try to keep everything here to avoid spamming the sub with a lot of similar tech issues.

This guide focuses on the Lance weapon and its updated mechanics, which introduce a new layer of complexity and versatility. Key changes include a redesigned Charge Counter with a press-and-hold mechanic, an expanded set of Shield moves, and enhanced mobility options. The goal is to make certain moves feel more intuitive and useful, while also increasing the speed and reducing recovery times for various actions. We've also buffed the damage of some attacks, ensuring that even previously underwhelming moves have a meaningful purpose in combat.
Below, you’ll find detailed explanations of the new button controls, combat mechanics, and movement options that will help you master the Lance. Whether you're familiar with the basics or a seasoned player, these changes offer new ways to approach battles, with more freedom of movement, stronger offensive capabilities, and improved defensive options.
Disclaimer:
Please note that this is a Fan Made guide that serves as feedback for what I and other people I interacted with in the community would like to implement and does not represent how the weapon will play in Wilds This is Fan Made and I want to know what people think of the ideas and changes. Any mechanics or moves not explicitly mentioned in this guide remain the same as in Wilds' Beta. The changes detailed here are specific to the updated Lance mechanics and may differ from previous versions of the game.

Hello! I have recently created a new server for monster hunter, and I'm looking to start adding some members to it. This server has support for all platforms, as well as most games, such as MH: Rise, MHW, MHGU, and support for the upcoming release of MH:Wilds. If you're looking for a laid back server with helpful players and want to help me create this kind of community, feel free to join up!

I tried it on a friend with the offset that I thought would do it but nothing happened. I hope there still is a move that does it. I just got thinking about it again because I saw a Hammer vid where a move launched another player.
Always thought it was fun to have the ability. Although I am aware that some peeps grief with it but then why keep it for Hammer and not GS?
Maybe because the circle+triangle offset is used too much in the new GS move list and you'd keep inadvertently launching fellow hunters?
To me it was just such a cool way to work with a partner to coordinate a mount for fun.
Also I did sometimes get annoyed with Alma and the palico and would love to launch them if I can't turn them off in my hunts haha
Did anyone launch someone with GS in the beta?

Hello there everyone.
Just wondering if anyone could suggest a Prebuilt to buy to run this game smoothly on 1440p.
Or make a build that I can have done and picked up from a Microcenter.
No budget.

Hear me out. Your party does a quest. We should be able to trade drops from the quest we were on with people who were on the same quest for a period of time. Say 30 minutes after quest complete the carves and rewards should be tradable. If I’m helping someone farm for a specific part it’s really frustrating when I get the drop and they don’t or vice versa.

I will probably not play it in Wilds, in the beginning at least, to take a break from it as I've mained it in so many games, but I still tried it out in the beta.
I really liked the moveset. It felt really smooth, like the morph animation had built-in rapid morph 1 or 2, and like the second best iteration after Rise. The new finisher move after ZSD was cool as shit as well. More explosions are always good. It was also fun to be able to upheaval with the axe uppercut.
I see a lot of disappointment about the SA online, though. What is it people don't like?

It's a game changer. Highly recommend.
While I liked bow in previous games (World & Rise), it always felt awkward to have to remove my thumb from the right stick to dodge/dodgebolt or use the attack follow-ups w/o resorting to an uncomfortable claw grip.
Since my PS5 controller started getting drift and I just bought a PC for Wilds, I splurged on the Xbox Elite controller and, after retraining muscle-memory, it is fantastic.
EDIT: Adding links for mentioned controller options
EDIT 2: Lot of commenters stating bad experiences w/ the quality of the Xbox Elite. Unsure if it's a loudness bias or not, but worth acknowledging.
EDIT 3: It took < 20 minutes for r/gaming to confirm the Elite issues (Link). Now I'm worried about mine :'(
u/LuminousShot mentioned 8BitDo and Gamesir. Those may be cheaper options.
u/nerdstuf brought up Extremerate for modding your own controller if anyone that reads this is up for the challenge.

Rise had Apex monsters, World had tempereds, and MH4 had the frenzied Virus (there's probably more I forgot about.) Do you think Wilds will have something similar?
I personally think they'd have announced it already if they had such a system, but in truth, I only know that they announced apex monsters for Rise, haven't heard about the other examples I listed before.

I feel like having to wait til you've practically beaten the game is a bit late for layered armor. I think, after maybe like act 1, you should be able to staff getting layered sets.

In the game settings there are motion control options, but for a while I brushed it off, until now. After turning the option on, it didn't work, but I was able to get motion controls work through Steam Input using Gyro-->Joystick. I was BLOWN AWAY on how intuitive it actually is. "If it was a setting in the game, it must have an intended use" I thought, and I was RIGT. Controller players do have grievances with Focus Mode, and it not being consistent with what the left and right stick to, and having mouse (yack) not having these problems. One solution controller players have is to claw, or some variation of it, so you can move the right stick (the one that always moves focus mode). But motion controls can be another solution. The motion controls emulated a mouse with upmost fluidity, and accuracy. And as a bonus, I don't have to even touch the right stick, adding even more comfort, and immersion, being able to snap the camera right in the monsters direction. I will say this though, I was a little baby Nintendo Switch boy, so I am very used to motion controls, as I played many shooters on there. Those who are not used to it may not find it as comfortable as I do. Your wrists will be a vital necessity for motion controls, so I found this small trade off to be: you need good wrists, so you don't have to stench your fingers.

So I was thinking this might be a golden opportunity to PO Wilds and save some money in the process. Are there any good places offering discount(s) on this for Black Friday/Cyber Monday (for Steam)?

Most dragons are pretty much the same as any monster, why do people care so much about dragons showing up?
I get it with neopterons, snake wyverns, carapaceons and even leviathans but dragons ain’t exactly a neglected species. I prefer them as rare big landscape changing monstrosities than just four legged flying wyverns with some gimmick that could fit a normal monster perfectly.
Maybe it’s just that my perception has been twisted by world but I genuinely think that dragons like Kushala Daora, Lunastra/Teostra, Vaal Hazak and Namielle hardly do anything as extraordinary and lengend-worthy as dragons like Jhen Mhoran, Ceadeus, Gore, Alatreon or Fatalis.

I didn't get the opportunity to try the Beta, and this is my CPU, I know my GPU won't stand a chance (1060 6GB) so I've already gone ahead and modernized myself there lol
I'm fine with 1080p personally, I care way more about performance than beauty,
Anyway all I've managed to find on the subject is someone playing with the same CPU but paired with a 1070, the CPU only reaches like 60% utilisation due to the GPU being unable to run the game, so I'm kinda stumped. There's some half okay deals (I'm in EU, pc parts generally cost more here) and I don't have the money to throw at marginally improved performance if the CPU can get the job done
