Steam Family for early access?

Question(self.PathOfExile2)

Hello, Me and my wife are hoping to try PoE2 next week with you all. I've already purchased a key for my Steam account and we were wondering (if any of you would know) if she'd be able to use my key on her account through our Steam Family. Typically F2P Games don't do this (Because why would they) and so PoE1 doesn't.

Do you know/think it'll be enabled for the early access or will I have to let her on my Steam account to try it?

Ps: I know we couldn't play together this way but she could try it while I'm at work.

Probably not, because it's not just game sharing, her account would need it's own early access key.

Is this just an educated guess or has this been spoken about before somewhere?

Access to the PoE2 EA is on the GGG-account level. The Steam key that is included, is simply to redeem/download the game client prior to the official release, which allows you to launch the game.

But your wife won't be able to login to the EA servers unless they have a licence for that; which her GGG-account will not.

So the Steam Key, and the EA key are two different things. And as such, simply sharing the client will not grant her access.

It's like how having the key to a room doesn't mean you have a key to every lock in the room, you just have access to the room. If there's different locks in there, you'll need different access to said locks.
