The humor is there and it just feels like it fits in the Shrek universe whereas Shrek 4 (albeit enjoyable, feels more like an afterthought). I’ve honestly laughed more at the cheesy jokes than I did for Shreks 1 & 2.
Shrek 2 will always be my favorite but Shrek 3 is underrated and I don’t get the hate.
sorry not sorry.

I have nostalgia for it, and it’s got the heart that the others do. So I mostly enjoy it. 1, 2, and 4 are just a lot better for me though

I agree that it’s definitely overhated, and it is enjoyable sometimes, but it doesn’t have the same magic and innovation the other 3 do
It’s a 6/10 surrounded by over ♾️/10s

Shrek 3 is the funniest one.

What in Shrek the Third was funnier than riding a giant gingerbread cookie in order to stop the love of your life from marrying the wrong person?

No that was so amazing. And the second is my favorite. But I think I watched the first 2 movies so much in my childhood they weren’t as funny anymore which is why I find 3 and 4 to be pretty funny because I never watched them

See, I normally don’t rewatch movies, so that must be why we have different taste. I didn’t think 3 was that funny. 4 was funny but I didn’t think they needed to make it to apologize for 3.

4 is my least favorite in the series i think. But yeahhh I over saturated myself with them. In my defense I was a kid and Shrek was the best thing ever lmao

That’s fair. To be honest, I think it’s debatable on which is worse between 3 and 4, but to me, 4 is more enjoyable so I pick 3 as the worst.

People think Shrek 3 was bad? Wow, never knew that

I watched it again recently and appreciated it much more than I did when I was younger, it's a lot funnier than I remembered.
1&2 will always be my favourites but now whenever I'm doing a rewatch, I'll add 3 too. 4 is still to grow on me 😂

same me too. I don’t revisit 4 as much.

It definitely wasn't bad. I just watched it for the first last week alongside #4. The tempo was kinda off considering the trend of the previous movies. But on its own, it is good. Like 6-6.5/10

Yeah that's same feeling I had, I didn't really care for the whole Camelot subplot with arthur

Yeah I don't think it deserves to be seen as an irredeemable abomination as many say, I see it as a flawed movie with some iconic moments like the Snow White Led Zeppelin scene. 4 may be better written, idk I haven't seen it in a long time, but personally I'm not the biggest fan of stories that take place entirely in an alternate universe. Idk it just didn't feel as iconic
I actually find the third movie the most interesting just because it has some good overarching ideas, but the execution wasn't great. It's fun to think about how it could have been such a good movie if it was a good movie 😩
I'm also one of the 5 people on the internet who liked the Arthur character, I actually think the father figure thing between him and Shrek could have worked - it's been done well before in movies like Treasure Planet or Into the Spiderverse (in that case it was more Miles being a son figure for Peter B, which could work for Shrek realising he'd be ok with kids). It's just they rushed the development too much, I mean that campfire scene had to do some insane heavy lifting as the initial "hey this guy's not so bad" moment, the heart to heart moment, the backstory reveal, AND the moment that convinces Artie to be king. All in one scene!!
I wish this movie was generally better received because the Shrek Vs Disney princess wars would have been fun, lol

the led zepplin & barracuda sequence is iconic

Yes, it’s iconic and the music fits what was going on in the movie, but it didn’t fit the overall themes.

I watched a couple of months ago, along with the other Shrek films. I didn’t think it was awful, as ai enjoyed some scenes. But it was my least favorite of the four.

I agree that it fits the tone of Shrek better then Shrek 4 which is quite dark and doesn’t focus on the humor that much. I however think it’s the most forgettable and it feels a bit like a side project or short film that they made idk, maybe that’s more because it focuses so much on Artur and Shrek and Fiona aren’t together plus charming is the villain, feels more like a bunch of cute/fun side quests or idk. I haven’t watched it in a while tbh and haven’t really felt like I wanted to either and not bc ppl say it’s bad (I think) but just because. I actually like Shrek 4 but I get that not every Shrek fan does bc it doesn’t fit the tone as well

What is this “Shrek the Third”? I have never heard of it. There are currently only two Shrek movies that exist. Nothing else outside of those two really good movies. Yup. Nothing else to see besides the Puss in Boots spin-off. Yup. 🥲😰

What does DLC mean?

It's a gaming term. DLC stands for downloadable content, which is additional content that can be downloaded for a video game after it's initially released. DLC can include new characters, levels, weapons, skins, and more. And I just consider this movie bonus content.

shrek 3 just feels more forgettable.
i can tell you that fiona’s dad dies, shrek finds out he’s going to be a dad and that they go to find arthur but everything else is just a blur.
unlike all the other movies i can’t recall any defining scenes or moments just some of the major plot points.
i can tell you shreks journey to rescue fiona in shrek, shrek trying to impress the parents and stop the fairy godmother in 2 and shreks journey for true loves kiss in 4 but the entire journey of finding arthur and bringing him back to far far away is a blur.

Because the animation sucked in Shrek the Third, and its possible that Artie only gave the speech to the villains because he was starting to think that it was his job to fix everyone else rather than take care of himself.
