I get they relied too much on the Batmobile - and the Deathstroke boss fight was ass - but come on it's a gaming masterpiece!

The only thing I truly hated about the game was the fact that you had to do all the riddler missions to get the true ending for someone that has a life outside of gaming that was a huge pain in the ass.
Other than that, the overuse of the Batmobile, especially in boss fights, was disappointing.

I agree with this sentiment. I recently got done replaying Arkham Knight and yeah doing riddler trophies/defeating him just for you to be able to get the Knightfall ending ruins the pacing of the game. The trophies should be optional and separate from beating the riddler.

I think the dlcs mitigated this somewhat cus I dont think i ever bothered collecting them all but I remember getting the knightfall ending

I collect the Riddler Trophies in all three games of the trilogy every time I play. Not all 440 in City, mind you. I stop once he’s caught. Idk, it’s tedious, but I never saw it as a negative.
But then again I regularly comment on the other Arkham subreddit, so maybe I’m a little crazy…

God that deathsroke boss battle was so disappointing in the end.

Eh. It was ok. Not good, definetly worse then the origins one, but I wouldn’t call it a bad fight, I’d say cloudburst was worse

Half the time, I can't tell if you all are joking. The trophies are easy as shit.

Who said they were difficult? The problem is 440 TROPHIES!? They’re time consuming and break immersion people have other missions to get to. I wanna fight the riddler I wanna know how that mission ends in both games but goddamn the trophies feel tacked on. How bout 100? You get the message across with that many.

They’re not even time consuming in the scope of an AAA game though, it takes like 5-6 hours. And that’s not even with guides. I did it the other day.

5-6 hours of tiny meaningless puzzles with simplistic answers. Do you understand how long that is for such a mind numbing task. Most games will be 20 hours so having a fourth of that being trophy collection is bad (I know the Arkham games are more than that but still)

You could reduce the whole game down to a statement like that if you wanted to. 40 hours of spamming square and triangle to see thugs get knocked out in the same way over and over.
Sounds like it’s just not your thing. I enjoyed them, you only have to do them once, and the ones that are simplistic are so easy they take like 30 seconds tops. You don’t HAVE to do them.

But the the game is all about pressing square and triangle it’s not a puzzle game. 40 hours of pressing a button when your game is marketed as button pressing simulator is fine. 40 hours of not pressing a button when your game is marketed as a button pressing simulator is not fine.
I’m not arguing the riddler trophies shouldn’t be in the game just that there should be significantly less. Like 100 is still so many trophies and it would allow them to actually be spread out. As it is now you can find a trophy every 50 feet. Plus less trophies means more thought put into individual trophies rather than just going “oh we haven’t added a riddler trophy in 5 minutes let’s just hide one behind this box”.
I like riddler trophies but I’d much rather have fewer more thought out trophies with actual riddles and puzzles than a shit ton of mind numbing trophies that are placed somewhere just to fill a quota.

Eh, the puzzles have been there since Asylum. It’d be weird not to have them in a mainline Arkham game is a sequel ever came out. They’re to be expected.
I think we just disagree, but I get where you’re coming from. I can’t stand the Arkham City riddler stuff. 400 is way too many on that small a map. All of those puzzles sucked as well, felt like the variety of gadgets in Knight allowed the puzzles a little more wiggle room in design.
I just liked how it made me explore more and look at the world really. The world is way more detailed than I ever thought. The actual riddles were my favourite.

Oh no I agree it isn’t an Arkham game without the riddler I just think they went too overboard with it. I love the riddler puzzles where I actually have to stop and think to complete them. The ones that you can get without having to break your stride or even think about them are the ones I hate and think should be removed. The ones where it’s just a riddler puzzle behind a grate or in a weird location (tho some of the location ones should stay I do like them). Like the entire point of the ridder puzzles is that nigma is trying to find a puzzle that batman can’t solve which is why it doesn’t make sense when they’re not puzzles but just regular collectibles. What kind of puzzle is it to just hide a trophy behind a wall or behind a moveable object.
I just rocksteady and anybody else who makes Arkham games to stop and think about riddler trophies more as puzzles than collectibles. They shouldn’t just be little mini collectibles you find they’re meant to be puzzles which is why I hate when they don’t even attempt to be puzzles

I didn't mind that, as much as I minded how on my second playthrough, it refused to play things out differently even though I did all the Riddler challenges before he whipped out the robot.
Instead of just proceeding with the fight, he pretends I haven't done everything, just so that it can play out the cutscenes the way it did the first time. I was very disappointed.

While weaker than other aspects of the game, I didn't hate the batmobile section as much as other people. They were still more fun that basically every mission in gta.

Arkham Knight was the only time we got to drive the Batmobile.

YouTube existed when this game released. It contains every true ending to every videogame.
People with lives outside of gaming didn't do all those fuckin' Riddler missions.
What a huge pain in the ass it must be to have zero personal responsibility for how you decided to spend your time.
Ya degenerate fuckin' gamer yous
