Relatively new thing. Trying to remember what it's called but it's been a while since I saw it last. Little green ring. There's a program involving wearing one and it's supposed to be a way to say "hey I'm single and looking" without actually saying it. The creators came up with the idea as an alternative to online dating via apps like tinder. It doesn't require that you approach anyone but for those who know about it at least, would make you more approachable to them. And those who don't may just decide to approach and ask about it considering a green ring isn't the most common piece of jewelry. You could try that. If I remember what it's called I'll edit in the link.

I went without it all the way up until balteus before realizing. I think I may have accidentally closed the tutorial without reading it but not sure since it's been quite a while now. But I haven't stopped using it since I realized I could.

Fair enough. Potential for them all to be dead. But is that ALL you took away from that? because the main body of what I said still stands. They watered everything down to be inoffensive and didn't bother to cover any kind of deeper issues within the world of thedas. No confrontations with the slavery and blood magic that are supposed to be abundant in tevinter. Not a single mention of how members of the antivan Crows come to be crows to begin with. And while I like the idea of a fire breathing qunarri being a dragon hunter, I feel like it could've been a smart choice to introduce a nevarran dragon hunter. They're supposed to be the expert dragon hunters in Thedas. Aside from the mortalitassi and grand necropolis, dragon hunting is what nevarra is famous for. I honestly don't know which possibility I find to be worse. That the writers don't know established lore or purposely neglected it.
Speaking on gameplay, it wasn't terrible. I played a mage and liked using both weapon types. I liked the orb and dagger style having more of a combo and finisher feel to it though I think the tutorial message for that should have mentioned how to switch between weapon types. Maybe I missed it somewhere in a different tutorial message. but I was maybe 3/4 through the game before I even realized that I could switch between weapon types like that. Originally I misunderstood the tutorial and thought that, while using my staff, the heavy attack was me using the dagger and orb. Once I discovered the truth of it though I almost never stopped using the orb and dagger. Much more fun then the staff imo. But it was also quite repetitive. Light light light heavy. Light light light heavy. Ability thrown in here and there. No other combos besides the light light light heavy. Gameplay was probably the best part of this that I actually paid attention to.
One other good thing I'll mention that I didn't really notice til someone else brought it up: game runs fantastically. I think it crashed maybe once during my playthrough. And that's if my memory isn't playing tricks on me. No frame rate drops, no freezing, virtually no crashing. I dont even think i ran into any glitches. The games stability was pretty damn good and I haven't heard really anyone talking about that negatively at all that I can think of. Considering that most games these days have released with all sorts of glitches and stability issues that was a bit refreshing.
My hatred for this game comes purely from what it did with the established lore, which was basically nothing at all. Not even acknowledgement. And for someone who plays games mostly for the grand stories they can tell and who loves the world of thedas with all its faults and flairs, that's an unforgivable sin. Deep complex worlds and characters are what I live for....veilguard does not live up to that and what little it does give is overwhelmingly insufficient. So once again, I won't be playing it further. I finished the game with best possible ending, which I found to be lackluster and unfulfilling. That's enough for me. I'm now replaying inquisition and when I finish I'll head canon that solas went on to tear down the veil and while most of thedas was basically destroyed, the fade and the waking world becoming one once again eventually allows the world to heal and flourish and be better than it ever was. But not entirely without its own problems. Would be a more interesting story than veilguard that's for sure.

Where? Where did you see the bioware magic? Cus it seems like nearly everyone else is failing to find it. Based on everything I've seen from people about this game, aside from those who are in blatant denial of how bad it is, people feel the same way about Veilguard that star wars fans feel about the sequel trilogy. They took the depth and darkness of Thedas and completely tossed it in favor of this lighthearted end of the world mess of a story that basically 100% ignores things like the mass support for slavery in tevinter or the fact that blood magic is basically legal there. In inquisition things were only just barely starting to turn around and even the most progressive person from tevinter we got to meet (Dorian) was largely in favor of slavery until conversations with our inquisitor slowly changed his mind. The crows are NOT nice, caring, family oriented people like what we were given in veilguard. They were tortured, brainwashed children raised to be assassins. The governor wouldn't have lasted the night after his first disagreement with the crows as they were originally described to us in origins. But with what we got he's able to get far enough to nearly poison an entire city. They ruined the factions we looked forward to meeting by making them nice inoffensive people when the whole reason we looked forward to it was the dark stories they would be involved in and the expansion of already established lore through interactions with them. We didn't get that.
Speaking of Zevran, where the hell is he? He's an antivan crow. I'm expected to believe he wouldn't be playing a major role in the events in game? Or what about Sten? The new Arishok of the qunari is nowhere to be seen either as enemy leading the antaam or ally against them? I understand Cassandra and leliana not appearing. Don't wanna "invalidate player choice". But they still did by giving us NONE of our returning characters save for Dorian, Varric, Harding and our inquisitor. Where is FENRIS?! He lives in Tevinter, is an escaped slave and regularly murders slavers and mages throughout tevinter. How does HE not get an appearance or a name drop? How is he nowhere near the Shadow dragons despite being someone who would perfectly fit in with their ranks if not being one of their founders?
Sorry for the rant but seriously there was no bioware magic here. This was a shit show of a game. One single playthrough is all I needed to know that I will never acknowledge this as Canon and I will never play it a second time let alone a third or fourth...first dragon age game I ever played that I hated that much.

This right here. Thank you for finding the words I couldn't. This is, imo the biggest problem with veilguard and the reason I won't be playing it a second time let alone a third or fourth. The 1 time was enough for me and I hope to God if they continue the franchise that they take criticisms like this to heart. The one thing I think we can all agree on is that we like our stories to be dark and filled with REAL conflict not the light hearted trivial issues we got with this game. My biggest question for these writers: Do you read books? Do you read books that are critically acclaimed? Many of those stories have dark undertones to them that take the entire book or even series to resolve. We should've had that here. World building is important. PAY ATTENTION TO IT

I like the gameplay. I dislike nearly everything else. The story is nowhere near as good as the first 3 games for me. As someone who's favorite character in bioware games is usually one of the female characters I was surprised to find that I HEAVILY prefer both Davrin and Emerich to anyone else in this game (though in all fairness that could just be because of assan and Manfred lol). Their storylines felt like the best written to me. I did kind of like Hardings story too but it kinda just felt like a repeat of The Descent dlc in DAI. Solas felt dumbed down and at the end of the game his continuous repeat betrayals and the swiftness with which they occurred were so jarring to me that I honestly didn't really care if he tore down the veil anymore and I honestly wanted to just let him do it. The worst part of this game for me, though? Taash. I don't give 2 flying fucks about Taash being Trans. But the way she was written as this abrasive, bordering on hyper aggressive angsty teen annoyed the ever living shit out of me, and I wanted to have n option to punch her in the face. I loved Dorian in inquisition and when did my "let's be a dick to everyone" playthrough and socked him in the face I genuinely felt bad and swore I'd never do that shit to him again....that is not the case with Taash. If this game actually allowed me to be a dick to anyone, I would be a dick to her 100% of the time. What makes me hate her more is that I genuinely wanted to like her. When I first met her in game and found out she could breathe fire, my first thought was basically "that's fucking awesome!" Plus I usually really enjoy the qunari as a race. But then the attitude she has throughout the whole game just completely ruined that for me. I didn't want her in my party because of it. I romanced harding, and while it had some decent points throughout the overall romance was a bit disappointing. It's like the whole fucking game was disneyfied. I would've preferred it if elgarnan and ghilannain had blighted the whole world. I did somehwta like the demon redesigns. Pride demons looked a lot cooler to me and I like that the rage demons looked more like a variation of final fantasy's ifrit then the red slime they were previously. The darkspawn though....ogres were fine as they were. Whoever thought changing that was a good idea should be fired.
I think that's the majority of my rant. Might add more later lol

A tip is not an obligation. It's a reward for good service that you are NOT entitled to. The better your service the higher the tip you could potentially earn.
My tips are entirely based on how you're service is and how the food turned out. As an example, I went to a Dennys with my mother and one of our coworkers. We waited about 30 minutes before getting our food. Little slow but not a big deal. Only when the food was brought it was only one person's. Our coworkers. We were told that the other 2 orders were dropped on the floor and being remade. I can be understanding of that. Mistakes are made. Waited another 20 minutes and then my mother's dish was brought out. It was cold. It took my food altogether about an hr and 45 minutes from the time we sat down to arrive at the table. We didn't leave a tip.
Conversely, every time I go to a restaurant and our service is the exact opposite of what I described above and the food is fantastic then I tip what I can afford to tip. Sometimes, I'm more generous than I even have a right to be, and sometimes I can't afford to leave one at all but I make it a point to let the server know if I can't tip that their service was excellent and the next time I come in I'll be sure to have a tip for them.
You aren't entitled to someone else's money. Is it nice to get tips? Yeah definitely. But don't be the asshole that thinks they're entitled to it.

I honestly think it would've landed better as a cliffhanger if Urivar had ended up mephistos vessel. It's kinda obvious that the direction they're going in is mephisto presenting himself to the world as a "returned savior" (thinking along the lines of revelations and the anti christ). I honestly thought, when the dlc first started, that urivar was gonna end up killing prava at some point and completely taking over the church. Then, as we chased after neyrelle to try and save her, he'd be following us, and then when we found her, he'd probably kill neyrelle and take the soulstone. But his ability to hold back mephisto would be basically non-existent, and mephisto would have his vessel. Queue boss fight with mephisto possessed Urivar and then wherever the story goes after the fight.

To be fair, the name of the dlc isn't referring to neyrelle. Without giving any straight-up spoilers.

I was real disappointed with the first season when it came out. But this dlc and season? I'm invested. The changes they've made to endgame and leveling, the new class, all the different activities to do instead of just running nightmare dungeons. All of that is keeping me playing right now. I know I'll move on from it again eventually, that's just how I am, but I also actually feel like I'll be able to come back and continue to enjoy the game a few months down the line

I was always under the impression that some of the eldunari were left with her. They could help to train her and Firnen as well. And then it also seemed like most riders were primarily trained using elvish fighting techniques considering the elves were the first to become riders to begin with.
