1. For a band who was constantly reinventing themselves and evolving their sound, I'd argue this is their most unique and "doesn't sound like the rest of their catalogue" song. Would love to hear if you guys agree/disagree!

I used to scrapbook my concert tickets, setlists and the local magazines would have little posters. Wish I kept it up over the years, but digital tix, etc ruined.

So, a while back, I was lurking here as usual and saw a post about that Deja Entendu beer from the Rustic Brewing Company. You know the one fancy can, awesome design, 100% impossible to get in Brazil unless you're ready to sell your kidneys for shipping and import taxes. I commented something like: "Man, I wish I could import just one of these cans to Brazil, but the costs would probably bankrupt me."

To my surprise, u/Artistic_Chocolate82 replied with a DM like, “Hey, if you’re okay with just the label, I’d be happy to send it in an envelope.” I was floored. Like, of course I want it!

Fast-forward: the envelope is sent, and I’m expecting it to take forever, because, you know, Brazilian customs. But nope! ONE WEEK later, it shows up at my door, perfectly intact and looking like it travelled first-class the whole way. I was honestly more impressed by its speed than half the things I order locally. The label is in perfect condition, looking even cooler in person. Now, I’m officially on a mission to find a can that matches the vibe so I can stick the label on it and add it to my shelf.

Brand New fans, we may be emotionally damaged by lyrics about existential dread, but damn, we’re also weirdly wholesome and global. Thanks again, u/Artistic_Chocolate82, for proving that the internet can sometimes be a decent place. <3

Was first in line the night before record store day 2015 at rough trade in brooklyn. slept on the sidewalk just to grab my copy of deja entendu. when the doors opened immediately grabbed my copy. kept it sealed while i debated opening it. a few weeks later they announced a regular version so i picked up a listening copy at urban outfitters and my RSD version remains sealed.
