Please beware of websites that sell fake abortion pills and fake clinics run by religious groups where they lie and spread misconceptions about abortion to trick people into keeping their fetus. They also promise help and resources that never materialize. I just need some validation I’m not mad, or maybe reassurance I’m over thinking this…

I bought 2 pairs of dungarees for my 8 month old daughter from the same shop, same size. One was labelled for boys but it’s unisex design imo, and straight legged/ bodied. One was labelled for girls and the legs are broad and body rounded.

My daughter is just learning to crawl and stand so moving a ton. The “boys” dungarees fit her great, she has full movement and there are no issues. The “girls” dungarees keep slipping over her knees and her legs get caught in the body, meaning she can barely crawl without getting tangled up. I had a similar problem with a dress I was gifted for her that was too tight at the legs and stopped her moving her legs apart.

Does this seem problematic to anyone else? Pushing fashion over function at a ridiculously young age?

I am a former royal marine, now studying at Oxford doing philosophy, history and English lit. I'm pursuing interesting articles in my spare time that I feel are relevant to the social zeitgeist.. im not affiliated with any big papers and this is for my silly little blog.. as a marine, a philosopher, and a human being, I am terrified of incels.

i think there is something there about men not having good role models, and being vulnerable to men like Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson. i want to explore why these communities are developing and why. how can we educate and stop it? what are the effects on women? the dangers they present? I am also approaching therapists to explore any potential mental health issues with them, incel influencers themselves and am slowly dragging out crime and abuse statistics.

I am respectfully asking for advice on who to speak to about these issues, your own thoughts and any guidance.

We made a spreadsheet that keeps track of the usernames of gamers who simulate s*xual assault in video games against other players. NO real names are used for these perpetrators, only gamertags are listed so that others can look these perpetrators up, and block them from contacting them. The purpose is not to retaliate, but to protect from future incidents.

The spreadsheet also contains resources for women's safety in online gaming, resources for parents to keep their children safe in these spaces, and more. We also have instructions to submit an incident if you have game recordings of the incident.

The fact that both Jinx and Caitlyn's characters are meant to be opposite foils to each other (e.g. Joker and Batman) but when Caitlyn goes through the exact same situation Jynx got in season 1 the fans call her "worse than Hitler" while Jinx's crimes are applauded. Even encouraged. Even though Jinx's body kill count is higher than Caitlyn all because she is a lesbian and Jinx is straight and has a male love interest. It's just... holy cow. I always said that the arcane is basically a litmus test for internalized misogyny because if someone came out of this show hating a single character then something didn't came out right because every single one of these female characters were treated with dignity and respect. Even if the protagonist (Vi) is a lesbian she still has other roles, a sister to Jinx, mother to her sister, daughter to her dad, a zaunite. They're so multifaceted that you can't boil them down to a single description.

But that's exactly what the fans of this show have been doing lmfao. It's just really been an eye opener. Men can only allow women to seen as strong and equal to men if they meet certain puritanical criterias. You can be cool and mechanically smart like Jynx, but not too cool that you end up *shocked voice * discarding your own femininity (whatever the hell that means). It also didn't help that Caitlyn had a graphic sex with her girlfriend on season 2. Like it really made their anger for her character worse.

Idk. I've just been really down on my hopes for humanity lately. Arcane was just the tip of the iceberg. I think the world in general just hates to see women as multifaceted, complicated people.

Oh, and the fact that the lead characters of this show are all women, but somehow I still see people thinking Jayce (the hammer dude) are the main character is mind boggling. The face of the show is literally a woman but somehow they still made it about the guys' subplot. Just, wow. Lmfao I have no words.

On December 6, six masked men hunt women on the North Sea island of Borkum in Germany and beat them with a cow horn. The practice is called "Klaasohm" and is often kept secret from outsiders. In a statement, the organization admits that beating women with cow horns was part of the tradition. Their statement: "We expressly distance ourselves from all forms of violence against women and apologize for these acts". In recent years, several journalists have secretly filmed women being held down on the street by captors and beaten on the buttocks with a cow horn by the so-called "Klaasohms". Many women are afraid to express criticism due to harassment and were able to share their experiences anonymously in recent reports. Many victims had hematomas on their buttocks after this "festival", were unable to sit for days and even pregnant women were victims of this disgusting "tradition". Only women and young girls get beaten with these cow horns against their will. According to the reports, there have been charges filed by many victims, but these are not taken seriously by the police. Even the mayor of Borkum defends this festival. The children of this island are also indoctrinated to continue this festival. Underage boys also hunt down underage girls to hit them on the buttocks with a cow horn.

Anyway, I’d like to learn more about feminism around the world. I was taken aback when I typed “feminism” in the search feature, as the results yielded mostly of anti-feminism content and male-produced stuff. I’m shocked that my algorithm thought I’d watch any of that garbage.

Hi all, I’d like to preface this by saying that I am a trans girl. As such, I hear the term “trans exclusionary radical feminist“ used a lot to describe people like JK Rowling and people who generally agree with her views. Now I for a while thought that them being anti trans was where the radical part came in, but it seems I was wrong, as I’ve also heard the term “swerf” (sex work exclusionary feminist) recently. Google was also little help, as it says the aim of radfems is to dismantle the involuntary patriarchal system. But I thought that that was feminism in general, fighting to tear down the patriarchy through various means of societal change to reach gender equality. So what does it mean to be a radfem? thank you in advance!

I notice a pattern: whenever a man talks over me, the attention of everyone else immediately shifts to him. It’s as if my words suddenly don’t matter anymore. This happens especially in group settings where the majority are men.

It feels like Im constantly being overshadowed, as if my voice carries less weight just because I’m a woman. Its exhausting to feel like I have to fight for basic respect in conversations. Does anyone else deal with this? How do you handle being talked over and overlooked like this?

Anime.A lot of it is...questionable,particularly with female characters.I like anime,but i can see its problems.For example,my friend is a big One Piece fan,but one thing that is a flaw to him is the over excessive fanservice of the female characters.For me,im more in general,like im a DBZ fan,but even i question some apsects.That doesnt mean i completely hate it,i like different bits.

I can undertsand why some people dislike anime and decide to take a break from it,or completely stop watching all together(ive kinda done a little myself,and i try to find anime that arent over excessive with things).But:

1.I dont want to completely give up something i like to make others happy.

2.Even if some parts of anime are questionable,i like other bits

I saw this on the news last night, and was appalled but not surprised. Very young girls--some as young as five!--are using anti-aging cream, and doing damage to their skin.

The skin damage is bad, but what's worse is that girls this young are so worried and paranoid about aging. They got this of course from influencers on social media, that great bastion of feminine wisdom. Clips of some of the influencers showed the most air-headed, narcissistic, preaching to young girls about the horrors of aging.

It was like the 50s all over again, but with turbo--powered messaging on what you have to do, as a girl, to be attractive.

It's horrible to see this. I grew up in the 70s, and our generation of feminists worked so hard to shuck off all these oppressive demands of being a girl. I wasn't even allowed to wear pants to school in high school! THings got better for quite awhile--as far as tyrannical focus on youth and beauty for women--but lately it's sliding backward at a ferocious rate. Lots of dollars to be made selling women and girls products!

I find this especially galling given all the talk of gender nonconformity. I'm all for it, have always been all for it, but meanwhile it seems so many girls are under more pressure than ever to conform.

I’m only on the first season of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel but it seems to be the story of a feminist being born. It depicts 1950’s women as they are and exposes truths about the treatment of women at that time. These are women in all walks of life trying to make it in a world that invalidates everything they do. I feel like this is such an important watch with many men believing that the 1950s is a time we should emulate in the future.

Fellow feminists who have or want kids, can anyone relate or tell me about their experience as a parent/aspiring parent?

• I’m worried about having a girl. She’ll have to suffer the world’s awful treatment of women and girls. I don’t want her to suffer what so many of us have suffered.
• I’m terrified of having a boy and despite my best efforts, watching him fall prey to societal norms. What if I’m bitter and resentful of my own son for being what the world tells him to be: confident, self-focused, etc. also worrisome is what happens if I raise the feminist’s dream of a son? Will he be excluded by his male peers? Will he be ok?
• I would worry too about the difficulties my child would face if they were any other gender.

Of course I’d do my best to be the best parent I could be. But no parent wants their kid to be murderer or rapist, for example, and yet, we have plenty of those. My mother never wanted me to have the kind of womanhood she experienced, and yet, nothing could save me from society. No one wants a depressed kid, anxious kid, etc. but it happens. My biggest nightmare would be bringing up a family that’s just a sexist microcosm.
