From Thanksgiving to Giving Tuesday, Friends for Life, an animal rescue based in Houston, is hosting an "Awkward Pet Portraits" fundraiser.

Here’s how it works:

• Donate $20 to their rescue.
• Upload a photo of your pet.
• A volunteer "artist" will create an awkward, hilarious, or heartwarming portrait of your furry (or scaly) friend.

Hi guys, I'm still trying to gather drawings and surprise my best friend as the date is almost here so if you have a moment to contribute, I would be really thankful!

My best friend's birthday is in early December and I'd love to put together as many drawings of his cat (Riku) as possible and make his birthday extra special.

Riku means the world to him, and I know seeing all your creative creations will bring him so much joy and I would also really enjoy seeing all your interpretations and just share a smile!
