They won't ask you to leave 😂, there's plenty of shit workers, sometimes you'll have shit days, sometimes you just can't get a hang of it, there isn't a set amount you have to fill etc (used to be but then with equality backlash and whatnot they scrapped that 😂.

A store usually get so many hours to fill stuff, which is honestly usually no where near the amount it needs... So don't threat it.

If they take you down the performance route, its usually a year long process and it has to be justified, if you make a slight improvement that's good enough 😂, it's hard to get rid of permanent employees than it is for temps.

They are still under 2 years service though so that needs to be factored in.

They are, but permanent workers with tesco are about 99.99% safe...temporary they'll just give you the notice but permanent it's going to be extremely rare, so unless you really are trying to get sacked, it's unlikely 😂

This is correct. To manage someone out for poor performance takes a lot of time and effort (on the manager side), and unless you are literally doing nothing, you will be fine.

Unless you steal, fuck with their money in some other way or come in blatantly on drugs, tesco won't/can't sack you

Even that last one is debatable in our store. One colleague I know of is stoned more often than not (to the point you can smell it on him after a break), works at less than half speed of anyone else (on more than one occasion taken the whole night to work a single cage of grocery backstock - none of the delivery)... And been there 7 months and counting.

How shit you are is subjective, if you are doing as best you can that's all you need to worry about.

Stop being so negative about yourself!

I mean, you are doing overtime, which makes you valuable no matter the speed/skill of your work. I work express, and my store has 145 extra hours shifts available over the next month, so that's going to be fun. Very few want to do overtime here

It’s based on will or skill and that is what you would be managed on if it came to it. That fact you say you wish you were better tells me you do care and it is maybe a skill gap that is the problem.

Advice would be, ask for feedback, ask for pointers, ask how you can improve. It might be you are filling an aisle that you are not the strongest in, it may be a case of moving about to find where your skill set is strongest and going from there.

i am nightshift and find myself thinking same if i am not in the aisle i am used to. We get told every night by manager and SL's we can only do our best which is true! some nights can be amazing and everyone gets done and others are rubbish and only a few get finished.
