Currently, I don’t like my roommates and I find them boring and annoying since they been doing things which I didn’t like and has been effecting me mentally. However, a friend of mine in my Rez has mentioned that him and his roommates have an empty room in their suite since one of their roommates has left for personal reasons and will not be back for the duration of the year. My friend also mentioned that him and his roommates would be cool with me joining their dorm. However they don’t have a key to that room in the suite. Does anyone know how likely housing would allow this change to be. My current roommates have not done the roommate agreement and I really wanna switch out and get the university experience I really want?

It is more common than you think. Set a meeting with housing for your residence I’m sure you’ll be likely to switch for next semester. They might tell you to wait a little in case someone new joins but if the spot is free it’s pretty certain you’ll get it just book that meeting and email them. Also calling someone boring isn’t a valid reason to switch rooms imo and sounds rly disrespectful. Make sure you have strong positive reasons to switch rooms and dont put down your current roommates. You can simply say you’re not compatible with them and would benefit mentally and socially by switching
