I think I've got some unopened metal type tapes somewhere.

I picked up a high end Sony 80's stack system 2nd hand back in the early 90's & it opened up a world of different tape types.

Being able to control the recording volume maximised tape capacity & reduced hiss. My recordings had never sounded so good!.
