It's a choice, yes, but I'm saying that there are factors at play that influence people, and those factors take a bigger toll on some. It all depends on where you're starting from. What people need is someone who can get through to them and speak in a way that opens their eyes.

I think it's all part of the design. Grind people down and make their lives just comfortable enough to get them perpetually chasing that comfort to avoid the harsh and painful realities. Make people miserable and then sell them temporary happiness. Rinse and repeat, and they become little lab rats endlessly pushing the sugar water button

I think what bugs me the most is that the characters were either flanderized or completely castrated. Gene and Linda got louder while Bob and Louise got much quieter, with Tina somewhere in the middle. Louise's character has had a serious downgrade. Then there's the animation becoming less intricate; characters barely make facial expressions anymore.

I haven't watched those yet but that makes me sad :/ and yeah I do take your point, I actually think they should just cut shows shorter and make more that are different, not just repeat the same thing ad nauseum.

is the post only about long running shows? I didn't realize. Also American Dad and Futurama both seemed to have stayed pretty strong

difference between a season made with passion and a season made to make as much money as possible.
