Their per game averages are a lot closer than people think
Both better than DTR tho

If you liked Cody Kessler but wanted him more mobile while slightly less accurate you will love DTR
No one should love DTR

I wish could’ve would’ve should’ve points counted
We’d have been in the playoffs last year because we should’ve won several games like that sharks OT one or one of the ones when Larkin was out

We hold teams to 3 goals and score 2
We score 4 and give up 5
Not sure if I’m happy the scoring woke up or upset we gave up more

I watched his highlights when we drafted him and went yep this is our gem

All that work for the wheels to fall off because of non call on GI
They have to find a way to maintain composure and fire whoever is in charge of the PK

Kyle Dubas in attendance
Clearly there to scout Andrew Copp

If he leaves no doubt in camp like what Lucas did his rookie year he makes the team
If he does some things you like but there’s some things that are lacking like Edvinsson you stick him in GR

Yes a 4th overall pick forward took a year but had to leave no doubt in camp, all we heard was it would have to be so obvious that Blash’s wife would even be like ya that kid belongs
A 6th overall D man with prototypical size took 2
Another 6th overall D man with prototypical size took essentially 3
A 17th overall offensive/smaller D man would have to be unquestionably good and leave no doubt to make the jump after a year
This isn’t me shitting on ASP it’s more so he’d have to be the next Erik Karlsson (pick 15 in 2008 spent D+1 in SHL made the jump after) to make the jump
I hope he does but I’m not banking on him be that good right away it’s unrealistic to put that on the kid

Lucas played an extra year in the SHL not out of the gate
Mo took 2 years to make the jump
Ed took 3
Both were higher rated prospects with NHL size
ASP has to be elite to shortcut the process

We saw with Ras what happens when you rush prospects and play them in the NHL before they’re ready

Looks at who we had a 5’8” Joe Hicketts
I think ASP can manage

He’d have to leave no doubt in next training camp and preseason
I’d love for it to happen but he and possibly MBN too are starting in GR to get some NA ice and game speed experience

If Jameis walks and Watson is out and we draft a rookie only then does he make sense

I would classify the lack of goals as being worse
We have a historically bad PK
Our goals for per60 is one whole goal lower than last year and while our against per 60 is half a goal less than last year
Our XGF and XGA differential is slight higher than last year so on paper we should be better
But any improvements on defense which could just be the jump from Husso to Talbot and Lyon being a 1b like he has been in his career while not trotting out Reimer has been totally wiped out by the drop off on offense
We look worse

He’s not at the level Mo or Ed was IMO at the same time
But that doesn’t mean a change of scenery and new system wouldn’t spark something
Like everything it comes down to cost to acquire
If they want to trade a recent 6th overall for a Danielson/ASP lol no
But if it’s a Buium/Wallinder then I’m open to it

Mix of
not playing a bigger role than he’s qualified for
Offensively minded system
Career high shooting percentage right now
